I just dont see whats not to like about these guys. Great musicianship, awesome songwriting, and top notch vocals. To each there own though so right on...

But if you don't see what someone else may not like that you like and why, then why would anyone tell you what they don't like and why? Razz

I can use your description for tons of bands that I personally regard as huge favorites, but I know would bomb out most places I would post about them. But I don't think 'the best' or 'one of the best' is always always so super objective, and both a mass majority and small minority vote tend to sensationalize the music on top of it all. I certainly find the former to be true with this band for much of their material, which does not hold deep appeal for me in the first place anyway.

see this post for someone else who doesn't think this band is "all that".

I see the musical talent but other than MMA, this band's songwriting bores me to tears.

Just my opinion though.

And my opinion to this point is that this band is just OK. Don't hate them but don't worship them either.

I don't see Evergrey as being overrated like mentioned in a previous post. They don't have the massive success as some similar bands of their ilk. But hey if people don't like 'em, they don't like 'em.

Described as Swedish Dark Melodic Metal, and the new album Torn decribed as a modern mix of In Searh Of Truth/Recreation Day. I just started playing Torn on air last week, I've had lots of positive phone calls from Evergrey fans. I think Torn is a pretty great release, also 2005's A Night To Remember is a great live album-TJ
