Tough question : Helstar or Arch era Fates Warning?

Which do you prefer?

It's almost as difficult as choosing a favorite Spice Girl.

But I'm going for Fates Warning. Spectre Within and Awaken The Guardian blow most everything else out of the water in metal. But wow, A Distant Thunder, Nosferatu and Remnants of War are VERY close to that same level of excellence.

I like the early Fates stuff but not as much as I like Helstar.

Its really difficult. I just bought Remnants of War from a guy in Britain. That album is just as good as A Distant Thunder and Nosferatu.

Like 'em both. Not sure I like one over the other. Both are quality band that I got into very early one. Was lucky enough to catch Helstar live in Rochester, NY on the Remnants of War tour. They were touring with TT Quick, who were the headliners touring on "Metal of Honor".

Went to see Fates Warning opening for Motorhead. They were on the Spectre Within tour but unfortunately the show was cancelled. We waited in line at the show. Fates Warning was there and came out to greet people in the line. However, all the equipement for the show was on Motorhead's truck and they didn't show for whatever reason. Bummer! Would have been one for the history books.

Said all that and still didn't answer the question. Should be a politician.

Yea, I didn't recognize her recent tv appearances. If my wife hadn't told me who she was, I never would've guessed "former/current Spice Girl"

There's not much in this world that beats Arch-era FATES WARNING for me.

HELSTAR in a distant second but well above most anything released these days.
