| Paralells, Perfect Symmetry and Spectre Within are my favourite albums and I used to have FWX and it's boring. With singers I prefer the singer on Paralells than than the singer on Spectre Within. | |

| Arch! Though I like them both. I think I just prefer the heavier music that Arch sang on.
Top 3 are the same as Temple of Blood's: The Spectre Within Awaken the Guardian Perfect Symmetry _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| I like Disconnected a lot, maybe because it was my first FW album. I just love the atmosphere it has. | |

| This thread was recently started, the topic was Parallels: https://heartofmetal.niceboard.com/heart-of-metal-f1/fates-warning-parallels-t10367.htm?highlight=fates+warningThis was my response: "I dig Parallels alot, although I like their '85-'87 years better, as well as Perfect Symmetry. The vocals and lyrics I like much better in the Ray Alder years, no more of that silly "dancing with the banshee" stuff and Ray Alder rules. But I love the guitars from "Spectre", Guardian" and "No Exit" the most." My faves are probably "Guardian" and "No Exit", to me those were the peak years but I like the direction they took in the 90's and 2000's. Still, the 80's were legendary. | |

| The Arch era for me. I bought The Spectre Within on vinyl when it first came out...because I liked the album cover. Fortunately, the album kicked ass too. One of my favorite metal songs from the 80's is "Kyrie Eliason", CLASSIC tune. I like all the Arch albums and No Exit, I never really got into the later stuff. |

| Wasn't into metal when metal was in. As a result I can't really speak for different eras. Howver, I have never heard anything by Fates Warning that I don't like. But then I like a lot of stuff that other people say is terrible. I also disagree with 99% of all negative reviews on Metal Archives.
I like it all. I own hard copies of The Spectre Within, Night on Brocken, and Parallels. And digital copies of most of the rest of their discography

| The first album I owned by Fates was No Exit, and finally got around to upgrading it to CD last year when the deluxe expanded re-release came out. Damn good timing I must say. Out of all their albums although it's a hard call I'd say No Exit is a fav. | |

| I'm honestly not familiar w/ the John Arch era, so obviously Ray Alder gets my vote by default. LOVE his voice! Favorites in this order:
1. Parallels 2. Perfect Symmetry 3. No Exit
