| Usually I just grab something pretty randomly to play. Most of it is by Springsteen, Aerosmith, and Zeppelin. - blackieboy wrote:
I do love Christmas time though (but I HATE the commercialization and selfishness of it). 100% agreed. The ads seem worse than this year. I got tired of Christmas this after during Thanksgiving. Hopefuly, I can tolerate the relentless advertising/shovng overpriced crap down my throat some more, now that it's December. |

| I think I'm gonna pick up a Trans-Siberian Orchestra cd today. We need some cool Christmas music in our house as we decorate. |

| My wife love Amy Grant Christmas and puts it on every year for as long as I can remember. It's a nice CD. Not really my thing musically, but Amy has a nice voice and the traditional Christmas songs are fun during the holidays. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| I also like Sixpence none the richers 'Mr Grinch'. My wife also spins the Amy Grant Christmas cds a lot too. They are ok but i prefer more orchestral christmas arrangements myself. Alex _________________ | |

| I am so darn nostalgic it isnt funny. As far as the holiday goes, this is embarrassing.
Enya - all her CD's Crash test Dummies - Jingle all the way Any basic compilation of good Christmas songs song and done over by many artist. Springsteen, Mariah Carey,Tony bennet, Bing Crosby, Burl Ives...you get the picture.
However, on the nostalgic side of things. I gravitate to certain bands around this time of year, not so much for the season, as much as I just recall listening to these bands heavily in my influential days. I recall jamming to them in late fall or early winter, seeing snow falling and whatnot, or the christmas decorations even recalling the music I jammed to around this time half my life ago. Some more specific albums some just the band in general.
Bang Tango - Psycho Hotel Pink Floyd - any album Maiden - mostly Somewhere in Time, SSOASS, NPFTD Metallica - MOP, AJFA GNR - AFD, Lies
I could go on, but these albums really played a large part in my early teens. back when Christmas Eve I had friends with me. I recall my girlfriend buying me the Bang Tango tape on Christmas Eve..... She was a hot one to, looked like a young version of Cindy Crawford. Hmmmmmm I hope my wife doesn’t read this LOL!!!!
Like I said I reminisce way to much, but it is all good memories of a time past, and all chalk up to great music. hope I didnt stroll to far off subject. | |

| Here's a side note that is somewhat related. I have listened to "Sons of Satan" by the mighty Venom at midnite on New Years Night every year since 1989. Does that count? |

| Two things I always listen to around Christmastime: 1. Trans-Siberian Orchestra 2. Gary Hoey performing the holiday songs we all know and love, ON GUITAR! I love his version of "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch". OOC: I'm back, Sorry for the absence. Long story... |

| This is one I can't believe I forgot. Weird Al Yankovic-The Night Santa Wen't Crazy (an origional, not a parody): Down in the workshop all the elves were makin' toys For the good Gentile girls and the good Gentile boys When the boss busted in, nearly scared 'em half to death Had a rifle in his hands and cheap whiskey on his breath From his beard to his boots he was covered with ammo Like a big fat drunk disgruntled Yuletide Rambo And he smiled as he said with a twinkle in his eye, "Merry Christmas to all - now you're all gonna die!"
The night Santa went crazy The night St. Nick went insane Realized he'd been gettin' a raw deal Something finally must have snapped in his brain
Well, the workshop is gone now, he decided to bomb it Everywhere you'll find pieces of Cupid and Comet And he tied up his helpers and he held the elves hostage And he ground up poor Rudolph into reindeer sausage He got Dancer and Prancer with an old German Luger And he slashed up Dasher just like Freddy Krueger And he picked up a flamethrower and he barbequed Blitzen And he took a big bite and said, "It tastes just like chicken!"
The night Santa went crazy The night Kris Kringle went nuts Now you can't hardly walk around the North Pole Without steppin' in reindeer guts
There's the National Guard and the F.B.I. There's a van from the Eyewitness News And helicopters circlin' 'round in the sky And the bullets are flyin', the body count's risin' And everyone's dyin' to know, oh Santa, why? My my my my my my You used to be such a jolly guy
Yes, Virginia, now Santa's doin' time In a federal prison for his infamous crime Hey, little friend, now don't you cry no more tears He'll be out with good behavior in 700 more years But now Vixen's in therapy and Donner's still nervous And the elves all got jobs working for the postal service And they say Mrs. Clause, she's on the phone every night With her lawyer negotiating the movie rights
They're talkin' bout - the night Santa went crazy The night St. Nicholas flipped Broke his back for some milk and cookies Sounds to me like he was tired of gettin' gypped
Wo, the night Santa went crazy The night St. Nick went insane Realized he's gettin' a raw deal Something finally must have snapped in his brain Wo, something finally must have snapped in his brain Tell ya, something finally must have snapped... in his brain
