I like this!
The new tune is an improvement over the last album (which I also liked). The solos are well crafted. The overall sound is slightly heavier. Sure the song titles on the new album are pretentious… but I like some cheese in my metal sometimes. Furthermore, Ripper seems to have put more effort this time. The screams are great!
Bottom line is KK belongs back in Priest before they hang it up! He knows how to make Judas Priest metal. As good as Ritchie Faulkner is, his “Elegant Weapons” project isn’t as good as KK’s Priest.

Cool review. I’m tempted to buy it. KK was my favorite Priest member. Bought his book and had some smiles. Horrified he bought a golf course…… And sold his copywrites. And sold that classic Gibson red Flying V.. He’s my favorite though !

Yes he does belong back in Priest, but I'd think he wouldn't replace Faulkner at this point because of Glenns health. There would just have to be two blondes in JP lol
As far as this song is concerned, I liked it a lot. Looking forward to the rest of the album.

I still haven't heard the first album... !
New tune sounds cool, but I gotta wonder: the song title and the album title are both references to Priest songs/lyrics. Is the rest of the album gonna do the same?
"Disobeying The Law" "Heading Back Out to the Highway" "Rawer Deal" "Next To Last Rose of Summer" "Rock Harder, Ride Free-er"
etc., etc.

Son of the Sentinel <-----Yes Strike of the Viper <-----No Reap the Whirlwind <-----Maybe? Desert Plains....Okay a bit of a stretch, lots of whirlwinds in the desert though lol One More Shot at Glory <----Yes Hymn 66 <----------Battle Hymn (66?) The Sinner Rides Again <----Yes Keeper of the Graves <----Defenders of the Faith....Lots of faith in a graveyard...ok yes its another stretch so sue me! Pledge Your Souls <----Redeemer of Souls....close enough...yes I know he wasn't in the band for this one, again sue me! Wash Away Your Sins <----Of course the easy answer would be Sinner, and since I'm tire of looing for matches, I'm just gonna go with that.
So in answer to your question, it would seem like it!

Yes!
References galore. I think Ripper wrote the lyrics. But he had to get the approval of KK.

KK’s Priest is unashamedly a rehash of classic Priest themes.
The first album even has a song called “Return of the Sentinel”.

Really good song and I like to have KK's Priest around. More good new Priest music the better.
This new song SUCKS! The mid-section is great but the song itself as a whole is bland and dumb!! The vocals are not so great and the lyrics are utter shit!!

A pretty heavy track here. Almost could have been on Jugulator.
KK’s talent is underrated. He’s been a bit in the shadow of Glenn Tipton for a long time. KK is no slouch on guitar. He also has incredible stage presence! KK refers to his performing as “throwing shapes”.
I don’t think KK needs to be in Priest again. He’s doing just fine with his new band. Of coarse, if he was offered a chance to rejoin, I would be happy as well. But if those guys want to hold a grudge forever… so be it. I get two bands to enjoy instead of one.

Just got done listening to the new album, and I loved it! Ripper sounds good, though I wish he’d tone it down a bit in parts, but overall I found it to be a great album. Liked it better than their debut. Hopefully it does well for them because it’s kick ass metal that should appeal to any fans of Judas Priest or bands similar. Hope they tour the states soon, dying to hear these songs live.

KK and Ripper need “one more shot at glory”!
They seem to get better with every new release. I wonder who will throw in the towel first… KK’s Priest or Judas Priest? Ritchie Faulkner is already preparing by putting out his first album with his new band, Elegant Weapons.
In my opinion, KK’s Priest is a lot better than Ritchie’s band. KK has an anger and fire in him that is reminiscent of Mustaine when he got booted from Metallica. Although KK is pissed because they won’t let him back in the band. Anger can be a great motivator!
