It sounds pretty good, but I never really thought the original sounded bad. It's not a mind blowing difference to me.

I do not buy many current remasters cause they are formatted for modern devices. I play just about everything through my 70's JVC tube amplifier w/ speakers that can handle the power. Modern remasters "fudge" at about the same spot on the volume.

Purchased 15 cassettes from the Time/Life "Guitar Rock" Series for a buck.
They looked new and are playing fine, so far.

Visited my local 2nd hand book/music store today and they'd just gotten in a big collection of live concert bootlegs. I don't usually go out of my way for such things but they were so cheap that I couldn't resist these three:

Metallica - Enter Mudman (2 CDs. Woodstock 1994)

Aerosmith - King's Chronicle (2 CDs, Chicago and Boston 1978)
...this was apparently part of a larger (6-disc) bootleg box set from Japan, but it was the only piece the store had.

AC/DC - Angus Cha-Cha (2 CDs, Hammersmith Odeon 1979)
...even though it's a Bon Scott era performance, all the booklet and cover pix are of Brian and Angus. Fuckin' bootleggers! Haha.

KISS - Head/Carnival Of Souls
...one of the many unofficial releases of the C.O.S. album, which was heavily bootlegged when the album was shelved in favor of the reunion tour. I already own the legitimate release from 1997, of course, but my collector's O.C.D. wouldn't allow me to leave it there.
