New year, new thread. You know the drill - tell us what you've added to the music collection lately. CDs, vinyl, cassettes, Mini-Discs, wax cylinders, whatever.

First scores of 2021!
Checked out a new (to me, at least) record store over the border in New York State - they were mostly about vinyl, but they did have a bunch of boxes of CDs stacked in a corner marked at 3 for a buck (!). So it took a bit of scrounging but I came away with these goodies:
Airheads - Original Movie Soundtrack Van Halen - Best Of Volume I Black Flag - The First Four Years Black Flag - Damaged L7 - Hungry For Stink Nuno (Extreme guitarist) - Schizophonic Journey - Arrival Arcade - Cry No More (promo CD single) Dragonforce - Inhuman Rampage

Solid score right there! That Journey album has my wedding song on it ("With Your Love").

First haul of 2021...
10,000 Maniacs - Hope Chest (The Fredonia Recordings 1982–1983) Chimaira - The Age Of Hell Erotics, The - Born To Destroy Lincoln Durham - Revelations Of A Mind Unraveling Pyogenesis - A Kingdom To Disappear Pyogenesis - A Silent Soul Screams Loud
Pyogenesis is such a bizarre band. Started out in 1992 with Ignis Creatio, a classic doom/death metal EP, and then by 1997 they were a straight up pop punk band. Haha. Never changed their name. So fucking weird.
Anyway, they did that pop punk stuff until 2002, then broke up, returned in 2015...playing a more grandiose kind of metal, once again incorporating death metal vocals. One of the weirdest bands ever. They're literally the real-life version of Cryptic Coroner, the joke death-metal-turned-punk band, Devin Townsend created for his Punky Bruster album.
Can't say I'm a big fan of the pop punk stuff, but they did it well. Everything else is great.

Hah, cool. Unfortunately that Journey disc turned out to be a scratched up clusterfuck that skips like crazy so I'm gonna have to shit-can it. Oh well (shrugs). Can't complain too much at 3 for a dollar.

The Poppin' Wheelies - S/T
After listening to Gas Giants today I was researching whether Robin Wilson of Gin Blossoms did anything else before reuniting with his original band. Turns out he did - The Poppin' Wheelies. Still sounds like Gin Blossoms to me:

I'm curious about what ten songs are on that Tull disc. I most likely have them but I'd like to know what some record company considered ten "great" songs from Jethro Tull. Personally I'd have a really hard time whittling the Tull catalog down to only ten great songs. I can find ten between Aqualung, Songs From The Wood and Heavy Horses alone.
I looked it up on Amazon and they don't have a track listing.

New arrivals from Stormspell.
These were actually supposed to be my last pickups of 2020.
I placed the order during Stormy's Black Friday sale back in late November (!) so they spent just over month trapped in the U.S. Postal Service system.
According to the tracking info, which I have been following the entire time with no small amount of amusement, they were shipped from California on Dec. 12th, and made it to New Jersey on the 26th. Then for some reason they took a side trip to Massachusetts (?) for four or five days before being sent back to New Jersey this past weekend, and they finally arrived at my house today.
Better late than never, right?
