So yesterday on my town's "Free Stuff" FB page, someone posted a "big box of CDs." The accompanying photo showed a heap of CDs with the Doors' Waiting for the Sun, and the Police's Synchronicity on top, so I thought "Oh cool, looks like there might be some good classic rock stuff in there," so I contacted the guy and claimed them.

I drove up to his house after dinner and picked them up, and after spending some of last night picking thru the haul, it looks like that Doors disc may be the only keeper for me. Most of the other stuff is not up my musical alley (lots of jazz, jam bands, 70s pop/rock, etc.) and a lot of them are in terrible shape - scratched to hell and back.

Over the next day or two I'm gonna go thru the pile more thoroughly, toss the junk, and hopefully there'll be enough salvageable discs left at the end to have some decent trade in bait the next time I visit my local used-music shop.

If all else fails, hey, I'll get a nice stack of spare jewel cases out of this!

Oh well, it was worth a shot. Would've been nice if it had been a whole box full of vintage thrash metal or punk rock CDs, but them's the breaks.
