What  is happening in China is the litmus test for (political) globalization in which an unelected ruling party of elites make the decisions for the populace in every aspect of their lives, band of course have control of everything else. It is ironic Marx had his theories about economic globalism and capitalism. Yet it is the political form (globalism) based on his theories that is prevalent. The European Union (EU) is another example of political globalism guised as an economic  form. The EU Council and Commission have different functions, but the (appointed) Commission essentially has more control.  The policies of our federal government further the growth and complexity of our political system, thus making it the type of globalism that is usually referred to when I mention globalization.

Nationalism to me has nothing to do with being superior to anyone, anyplace, or anything. It means my fellow Americans should be able to compete on an even playing field on an open market. It means we should grow, produce, process, manufacture, construct, erect, synthesize, and utilize our natural resources for ourselves first, and trade excess internationally. It means we become self-reliant as a nation and makes it more difficult for control to be given or taken away. Be it by multi-national corporate manipulation or foreign entity. It means community helping community, less government, less regulation, and returning our money to the gold standard, basically honest work for honest pay

Point to ponder...

Look up how much of our anti- biotic supply is manufactured in China. It is a lot!
If China says, "USA is @$$hole" and quits shipping it here... Our healthcare system is screwed regardless if it is free or you have to pay.

A good reason for nationalism in regards to socio-economic purposes and something to consider about the ramifications of globalization, considering China would only do that for political reasons.

One more thing

Here is the grift...
First, capitalism is utilized to generate wealth.
Second, wealth is utilized to obtain power.
Finally, both wealth and power are used politically to not only gain control, but keep it.
