Ambrosia is the greatest soft rock band IMO. If there was ever such a thing as “blue eyed soul”. I put them even above Hall and Oats.

Now we are delving into 70’s soft rock! Lol
I’m definitely fine with that! Some of the greatest songwriters of all time!

April Wine- Just Between You And Me
(IMHDO) If say.... REO and "Keep On Living You" were not out at the same time, this song would have been huge. Not meant to be?

I love me some LRB. I saw them back around 1979 and they were absolutely great live. Although looking back maybe the vocals were just "too perfect"; I mean the harmonies were spot on on songs like "Cool Change" and "Lonesome Loser". But back then we didn't think bands lip-synched so who knows? But it was a great show and I had a girl from school sitting in my lap for the entire show. Ah memories...

But ultimately it's REO Speedwagon that rules when it comes to power ballads.
Ugh! "Keep On Lovin' You". That's when I climbed off the REO Speedwagon. Before that song broke mega-huge they were one of my favorite bands; I mean "You Can Tune A Piano But You Can't Tuna Fish" and "Nine Lives" had some ballads but nothing as sickeningly saccharine as "Keep On Lovin' You". Shame of it is that album had a bunch of other GREAT songs on it but the only one anyone ever talks about is that godawful song. It's REO's "Beth" (Kiss) or "Babe" (Styx); one hideous, awful song that just about ruined a band for me.

Oh to be 19 again. Seriously, if I could go back in time and just stay there it would be my college years. Barely learned squat academically the first 2+ years but I learned a HELLUVA LOT about being an adult during that time.

That's a great one! The sound of Saigon Kick is so unclassifiable. They have songs that sound like everything from the Beatles to Motley Crue to Savatage.
For example here's the track right before "Love Is On The Way" on the album "The Lizard". It sounds nothing like the track that follows it and that's typical for a Saigon Kick album:
And then from the first one there's this quirky, yet catchy and melodic Beatles-esque song that features a "kazoo choir":
Such an underrated, overlooked band...

Yes, they were definitely unique.
They were like the heavier side of Alice in Chains and Jane’s Addiction mixed with some quirky melodies of the Beatles. They dabbled with the hair band image, but they didn’t really fit with that genre. “Love is on the Way” was their only song that took advantage of the acoustic ballad trend that was popular at the time. Extreme was another band with a similar unclassifiable mash up of styles. But Saigon Kick was lyrically more adventurous (and heavier).

I missed the "Wicked Game" post earlier. Ever heard the HIM cover? I was never a fan of the original version but I love this version:
