| What is your favorite melodic rock album? By Melodic Rock I mean like Journey, Foreigner, Asia, etc. I call the genre AOR (Album Oriented Rock) but I'm not sure if that is the right term. My favorite album of the subgenre is Signal Loud and Clear. It features the vocals of one of my personal vocal favorites, Mark Free (before the incident). It just is jammed full of catchy rock songs that are very well put together. (BTW, the genre is still considered hard rock, thus my placement in this room) |

| Ya got about $100? I do have a second copy. Original New Ren discs go for ridiculous dough. But this album is actually WORTH IT! |

| No, I just need a burnt copy. I have drained the quality from my CD collection trading with you already. |

| One of my more recent faves of this genre was last years solo album by PC69 vocalist David Readman. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I can't/won't choose just one (I'm a sucker for melody):
Sure Conviction-Get Ready Idle Cure-Eclipse Night Ranger-Neverland Micheal Sweet-s/t and Real .38 Special-Bone Against Steel Kerry Livgren-When Things Get Electric
Speaking of PC69, I also love Khymera-A New Promise which features their bassist, Dennis Ward, on vocals (and a song written by .38 Special's Don Barnes) and if released in the 80s would have been a hit (I can't wait for album number three from these guys-two with Dennis on vocals, the first had Kansas' Steve Walsh).

| I got scared away from Khymera by that first one; it's horrible. Maybe I need to revisit this band now that Steve Walsh isn't on vox anymore. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Does Loverboy's GET LUCKY count as "AOR?" Cuz that's an oldie but a goody. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Cuz that's an oldie but a goody. I think so...and it is great! But I personally like Keep It Up better. Maybe because that was the first Loverboy I had on tape. Wow, that last statement can go a whole other direction. |

Samples from the new album and the last are found here: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=295621332 Dennis Ward is an amazing vocalist. Check out Alone from A New Promise and you get a small taste of how awesome that album is in the AOR realm.
