Terrible poll. Plant was the man. The icon and the idol. He kickstarted the essence of heavy metal frontman. And inspired thousands of hair metal bands. Flashy, flamboyant, loud.
Morrison was plain in comparison. Very plain. A good looking plain dude singing. With one psychedelic performance of a great song that got captured on video.

You have to admit, Morrison was fun and freewheeling. He died July 3rd 1971. I’d rather hear the L.A Woman Album......than Houses of the Holy. Plant was the ultimate hippie. Page brought out the dark side for sure. Morrison was much more street. More avant-garde with lyrics. His grave is a huge tourist attraction. One of the top 10 in France.

Morrison was entertaining as a train wreck, but Robert Plant was a true frontman!

I went for some music shopping today, and came back home with 2 Led Zeppelin albums: III and Presence.

I'm so glad Morrison is getting trounced in this.
Plant by a landslide!

The Doors have always been a best-of type of bands for me.
Funny thing is that i used to feel the same way about Led Zeppelin, before gaining more interest in them lately.

Plant, but Morrison was no slouch if you caught him early-on in the Doors career. He had a certain charisma and dark persona that was unique for the time.
As they went on, Jim's demons got the best of him. If you caught him on a good night, he and the rest of the Doors were fantastic. Other times, Jim was a train wreck.

I like both albums. Presence in particular has some really cool stuff on it that tends to get overlooked in the Zeppelin catalogue. "Hots on for Nowhere" is really fun, and "Tea for One" gets at the heart of their blues influences, harkening back to "Since I've Been Loving You." It's also interesting that they decided to play "For Your Life" for the first time live during the 2007 reunion.
