BPMD — the new heavy metal juggernaut featuring vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth (OVERKILL), drummer Mike Portnoy (THE WINERY DOGS, SONS OF APOLLO), bassist Mark Menghi (METAL ALLEGIANCE) and guitarist Phil Demmel (VIO-LENCE, ex-MACHINE HEAD) — will release its debut album, "American Made", on June 12 via Napalm Records. The 10-track homage to some of rock music's greatest treasures is turbocharged by the experience and enthusiasm of its four creators, and its first single, "Toys In The Attic" — an AEROSMITH classic just begging for a heavy reimagining — is only the first boisterous sliver of proof.

Definitely something I'll check out although I kinda wish they would have dug a little deeper on the tracks they picked. Some of those songs have been covered to death.
I could go the rest of my life without hearing any version of 'We're An American Band' again.

Sounds good. Just having Blitz working with Phil Demmel is enough to check it out.

I agree with MG that it would have been nice to see them dig a bit deeper on the song selection, but then I realize that bands mostly cover songs they grew up with and those that are their faves, so I never sweat it too much. I like what I hear so far, though.
Given the name of the band, I can't help but think of the rap group EPMD.

I would be more interested in hearing what originals they'd come up with.

Bump. As the kids say, this album "drops" tomorrow, June 12th. Here's their take on *SIGH* 'We're An American Band'...
