| I never get on this thread, but wanted to extend my condolences to Paul "Mr. Wonderful" Orndorff's family. I first started watching the WWF around the time he arrived. His career in that organization was short but sweet. I'm especially fond of the time when Hulk Hogan came to his aide, when Mr. Wonderful officially turned babyface. It was great!

| I'm late with this even though I knew about it (Tyrus tweeted about it the morning it happened) and I sent a text to my sister's husband (lifelong wrestling fan) breaking the news. Mr. Wonderful is before my time (he was all but retired when I became a wrestling fan) but with tapes rented from Blockbuster and his short stint in WCW in 1990 I became familiar with his work. | |

| Cool Texas Death Match on AEW tonight between Jon Moxley and Lance Archer for the IWGP US Heavyweight title. Lots of blood and shades of Abdullah The Butcher. Archer is the new champion. I like him; he's big, athletic and just has a cool charisma about him. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I'm glad he won because he REALLY needed this victory. Before this, he lost every major match he had and one more loss would really put his status as a dangerous monster in jeopardy.

| Watched AEW and the "No Rules" match between Jericho and some guy named Nick Gage who I guess is an infamous "death match king" on the indy circuits.
Meh. Despite Jericho bleeding like a stuck pig after the use of fluorescent light tubes, chairs and a pizza cutter this was actually pretty boring. This Gage guy demonstrated very little actual wrestling skill and just ran around looking for more props to use. I realize this was intentionally "garbage wrestling" but one thing those matches have to have is some kind of suspense as to the outcome. Knowing this was only "Labor #2" in the gauntlet of matches MJF has set up in order for Jericho to get to him, it was obvious from the start who was going to win. And stupid TNT continues to take extended commercial breaks in the middle of these feature matches that close out the final hour of AEW which totally disrupts any atmosphere the match had (the "picture in picture" gimmick doesn't do anything to maintain the emotional flow of the match since there's no sound).
Of course Jericho won and now it's on to....Juventud Guerrera???? Seriously? YAWN... This storyline is quickly becoming the "Labors of AEW Fans" as we're forced to sit through this crap. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I agree the match was boring, but I somewhat disagree on the obviousness of Jericho's win. I do agree that it was obvious he was going to win this trial, but I think it's obvious Jericho is going to win ALL the trials. Just so his loss against MJF will be more impactful.
Funny event from that match. After Jericho was attacked by a pizza cutter, they went to a Dominos commercial where someone was slicing up a pizza. Dominos are not happy with this and are threatening to remove their commercials.

| Beat me to it; I just came here to post that. You know, I never even noticed it because I was just pissed that AEW continues to place a lengthy 2 or 3 minute commercial break right smack in the middle of their main events. I HATE that! Whatever happened to: "We bring you the final 20 minutes or to a conclusion commercial free"? That's what they used to do. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I think I see the new leader of The Dark Order. It's a perfect fit. Bray could have a field day in AEW especially with no language restrictions. He could be over huge with AEW fans either as a face or a heel. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

It would be perfect to wait until Hangman beats Omega for the title, then have the Dark Order turn on him and bring in Wyatt. For measure they should also turn on Silver, little muscle man maybe to over to turn heel.

Yes he is! What's funny, I actually remember him when he jobbed in WWE. I was thinking at the time that for a guy meant to be fodder he was pretty unique and charismatic.

| I just saw that Ric Flair has been released by WWE. He disagreed with the Lacey Evans storyline and since she's actually pregnant in real life now, WWE and Flair mutually agreed to his release. I wonder what AEW could do with him. Manager maybe? _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I hadn't thought of that. They already have Arn and Tully so if they could just add Ric and Wyndham they'd have a reunion. Not sure what you could do with them because they're all way too old to actually wrestle.
Whatever, AEW would be crazy to not sign Flair regardless of what they do with him. If you watch any baseball games inevitably you'll hear "Wooo" chants later in the game. Cardinal announcers will frequently say something like "...and here come the Ric Flair 'wooo' chants." Anybody that popular should be able to draw eyeballs to your TV show no matter what you find for him to do. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| WWE is saddened to learn that Jody Hamilton, known to fans as “The Assassin,” passed away at the age of 82.
Following in the footsteps of his brother Larry “The Missouri Mauler,” Hamilton transitioned from amateur boxing and broke into the world of wrestling in the 1950s. By 1958, The Hamilton Brothers had risen up the ranks of the New York based Capitol Wrestling and battled Antonino Rocca and Miguel Pérez in the main event at Madison Square Garden. Just 19 years old at the time, Jody became the youngest grappler to ever co-main event at The World’s Most Famous Arena.
Hamilton would go on to team with Tom Renesto to form the masked duo The Assassins and drew sellout crowds throughout the southeastern United States. The tandem became a force in Georgia Championship Wrestling and held the NWA Georgia Tag Team Titles a record-breaking 12 times.
After Renesto’s retirement, Hamilton would carry on the torch of The Assassins with Ernie Ladd and then “Hercules” Hernandez and claim a collection of tag team championships in the Central States and Mid-South Wrestling Promotions.
An injury forced Hamilton to step away from the ring, but with sports-entertainment in his blood, the veteran would blaze a new path with The Power Plant training center for WCW. Hamilton was instrumental in the development of legendary competitors such as Kevin Nash, Goldberg, Diamond Dallas Page and Big Show.
Following WWE’s acquisition of WCW, Hamilton would continue teaching future Superstars with Deep South Wrestling. His son Nick continued the family tradition as a referee for Georgia Championship Wrestling, WCW and WWE.

| Eaton was only 62????? Geez I'd have thought he'd be at least in his 70s. That means all those years I watched him in The Midnight Express he was only 2 years older than me??? That's hard to believe; seemed like he'd already been around forever.

| AEW gets Punk, Danielson, and Cole and is using ex-WWE talent better than WWE ever did (Moxley, Miro, Malachai Black, FTR, etc.).
What is WWE's answer? Take NXT from HHH who has made it the best WWE show and give it to McMahon and Prichard who have made RAW WWE's worst show. Sounds about right.
I've noticed (as have others) that in WWE every match ends in one of many ways: surprise roll up (if there's a clean win, it's from that), disqualification, count-out, or distraction (followed by the surprise roll up). Once in a blue moon a wrestler wins with their finishing move, but the money is in betting against that.
And of course RAW has the standard show opening. Two wrestlers have a match, a rival interferes causing the disqualification. The heels beat up the face until another face comes in then cut to commercial. After commercial the two faces go against the two heels in a "impromptu" tag match. Smackdown will do the same once in a blue moon but RAW goes no more than one week (if that).
Both WWE shows also overdue it with re-caps. I watch the Hulu versions (RAW is missing an hour's worth of TV while Smackdown is the whole thing) and spend half the time skipping through the footage of the week(s) before (I also skip through matches that bore me to get to the end). At least when AEW does a recap, they have commentary from one of the combatants. For instance, AEW re-caped the Miro vs. Kingston match and during it Miro was talking about how he destroyed Eddie.
Yeah, I REALLY should stop watching WWE but (and maybe because I don't watch sports) I just can't give it up completely. Though they are doing there best to drive me to that point.

| I only what WWE when absolutely nothing else is on.
Also, I didn't know that Adam Cole is married to Dr. Britt Baker ("Dee Emm Dee!!!"). I like her; she's one of those "likeable heels". And she gained my respect after that all out brawl several months ago where she just bled like a stuck pig. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Same. I really like it when he does the surprise roll up and puts his hands in his pockets. Last week on NXT they debuted Rick Steiner's son with the name Bron Breakker. I thought it might be him because I remember somone mentioning he played a security guard taken out by Carrion Cross a while back. It was affirmed when commentator Vic Joseph said he has a "dog faced gremlin mentality". This week he was on the mic talking and he even sounds like his dad. Not sure why they won't use the Steiner name, but I suspect it has to do with his uncle and WWE doesn't want that name associated with them.
