I agree, I hated her too which as you said just means she performed her role well.
Whether Savage, Shawn, or Harlem Heat she did her job incredibly well!

Yeah I saw that part of AEW and had to google his name too because I thought he looked like Abyss. But you're right, he does look like a monster.
I kind of got a Tazz vibe, especially in his debut with all those suplexes and his shorter stature (as they called it, "low center of gravity"). They even had Tazz on commentary.

These latest posts on Sherri made me search for how she died. I knew she was dead but there are so many wrestling deaths that I can't keep straight who died from what.
Sadly it seems Sherri died from an overdose of oxycodone. And she was only 49; I would have bet anything she was at least 10 years older than that because I can remember seeing her on television for a LONG time.
RIP.

I think Sherri started when she was 16. By the time she was 20 she was on TV. Yeah, what a sad death. Such a great talent gone too soon like many others. If you get a chance search for Something To Wrestle With Bruce Prichard. That episode is a great listen.

Didn't take long to ruin the Fiend. Goldberg is Universal Champion.
Not as crappy as that but Ricochet got beat by Brock without any offense. Total squash.

I expected both of those results. I'm glad Ricochet got squashed; him even being in the same ring with Lesnar is totally unbelievable. Plus I just don't like him; I think he's a boring, glorified cruiserweight.

Same I am also glad it was a squash. Also not surprised about Goldberg either

I understand you two don't like Ricochet, I'm not exactly a fanboy of his myself. However, that's not the point. They have been building him up hard lately, even having him beat Lashley clean two weeks in a row. Just like with Kofi, you diminish all those he was put over with this move. Having a total squash like that makes it an absolutely pointless for the push in the first place.
I know I should haven't expected any better from WWE at this point, but the last month before this PPV, they've actually done a decent job and I thought (as naive as it is) they finally learned their lesson. The only lesson to learn is don't invest in any wrestler on the main roster because WWE doesn't give a damn what we think.
Luckily, NXT is still going strong and even though it's predictable, AEW still does a better job than Raw and an even better job than Smackdown. Speaking of which, AEWs PPV is this Saturday, I'm there!

Speaking of AEW, interesting tidbit about The Butcher:
I know most of us have no interest in metalcore, but this is still pretty neat.

The Cauliflower Alley Club issued a short statement on Facebook announcing that legendary Pacific Northwest wrestler Rip Oliver has passed away. He was 67. Oliver was placed in hospice at the beginning of 2020 due to end-stage heart failure. Pacific Northwest legendary wrestler Rip Oliver went to be with the Lord today at 4 p.m (Eastern Standard Time). May the good Lord comfort his widow and three children, family & close friends. Rip is no longer suffering but we are deeply saddened by this news. Oliver was a former WCCW Television champion and a 12-time NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight champion. As mentioned above he leaves behind a wife and three children.

Watching the documentary series on the Ruthless Aggression era. A stark reminder of how great WWE USED to be. Episode 4 is about Brock. You forget that Brock used to be one of the best characters they had. I remember how good he used to be when he actually gave a damn. Ever since he came back you just know that he doesn't give a damn anymore which is why his constant pushes are so annoying. If he put half as much effort into his matches today, I could actually get behind him.

Wow, this episode of Smackdown is really weird! It's got all the pyro and all the announcing of a regular event except the Performance Center is completely devoid of fans. This is so surreal...

There is video footage going around that showed them standing around in the ring talking during commercial breaks and completely stopping the matches.

WWE has still not made a decision on whether or not to postpone Wrestlemania, which is scheduled to happen on April 5 from the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. As of now, it’s still scheduled to happen in spite of the Coronavirus outbreak, although Tampa officials are considering pulling the plug. A new report from TMZ suggests that WWE is even considering holding the event without a live audience.
A source said that the situation is ‘fluid’ and WWE are weighting their options. If the event had no fans, it would still air live on the WWE Network and PPV.

WWE is in the same boat as every other sport. And with the President now changing the recommendations to no group gatherings larger than 10 people I can't believe WWE would go through with WrestleMania "normally". And since they're now saying this could last until July or August WWE either has to postpone the event until Fall or go through with it with no audience and hope they can recoup some cost from PPV (which might be doable since people are desperate for anything remotely related to live sports).

As mentioned above, RAW is coming from The Performance Center with no audience. It's really weird because they're showing clips from last week with AJ Styles taunting Undertaker in front of thousands of fans. And now Edge is recapping his feud with Randy Orton to zero response of course because no one is there.
The whole thing is surreal. Was life really just "normal" only a week ago??? It seems like so much has sent us into this "post-apocalyptic world" in just one freakin' week.

Wow, 5 minutes in and Raw is as lame as the last time I watched it a over a year ago only there's no audience. I was kind of hoping they would just have matches. Steve Austin is here? At this point I don't care. I'll try and hang in there for at least a half hour but if it's promos all night I'm checking out on Raw

I agree that it's the same formula RAW has used for years now but I still find it interesting because the formula feels different with no crowd reactions at all. I think it's fascinating to watch the performers try to give an impassioned promo with no audience. It remind me of the Tough Enough series.

Now this is more of what I was afraid of.
They're not showing new, live events from the Performance Center; they're going to stock the show with previous PPV footage.

Sure seems that way. And if you have to kill 3 hours with no audience that's sure what I'd do.
But you know, just let us know that's what 75% of the show is going to be. It's understandable given the circumstances but at least let us know and decide if we want to watch or not.
Oh wait, this is Vince we're talking about; Mr. Ratings. Nevermind.
