Should have seen the stingy defense of the Stars translating well into the playoffs. And the Predators, while with a terrific roster, have shown so little late in the season that the expectations should have been adjusted.
Two game sevens tonight. With my luck it's the Leafs and the Sharks winning. Carolina - Washington is already a done deal because Justin Williams plays for the Hurricanes.
So in the end I will go 4/8 and not be any better than a coin in predicting results.
That game 7 between the Knights and the Sharks was a classic! An epic game for the ages.
Bleeding from the head was the best thing Pavelski has done for his team. I do not think that was worthy of a 5 minute major, but BAH GAWD what a collapse by the Knights. If that's how you kill penalties, you deserve to lose.
Am I right, Jonathan Marchessault?
Oh shut up, you whiny pussy! Champions overcome adversity. How about NOT ALLOWING FOUR POWERPLAY GOALS IN ONE PENALTY?! You had the game. You blew it.

Great game 7 in DC last night. Now all division champs are out. Hurricanes were the better team and deserved to win.

It’s a sad night for me but it was a good season for the Avs.

Avs really need one more good defenseman and they'll be top of the line.

OK, so I know NOTHING about hockey but since the Cardinals have really been sucking lately I've been watching bits and pieces of the Blues' playoffs games.
I was really hoping the Blues would get the Avs in the next round because you know who really runs that team - Stan "I Took MY Rams Out Of St. Louis" Kroenke. Sure we know Kroenke's son owns Colorado on paper but we all know ol' Stan pulls the strings. In fact he's so hated here that there was talk that if he wanted to attend any of Colorado's games here in STL he'd had to wear a disguise - like taking off that cheapass toupee he wears.
Unfortunately that was not to be and now we get the San Jose Sharks. Great. You know what I've been hearing all day? Either "Do You Know The Way To San Jose" or even worse this:
Thanks a lot for that Avs. As if the Stan connection wasn't enough...

Just another reason to hate Stan Kroenke.
OMG, that song is just awful; there are like 3 notes in the whole thing. Hell even The Ramones have at least 4 notes - most of the time.

No but opponents play it if they beat the Sharks.

I watched Cam Neely play way back when he was a Portland Winterhawk and followed his career in the NHL.

What chaos must be going on downtown at the game. They are under a tornado warning for the same storm cell that went through here. The Cardinal game downtown was cancelled this afternoon before anything even happened but nothing you can do about an NHL playoff game. Fortunately they say most of the Enterprise Center is designated as a storm shelter so as long as people stay in their seats they should be safe.

Should have put money on it.
I know I originally put the Bruins over the Blues. But having watched these playoffs, I think St.Louis takes it. I can't change the original prediction, it is what it is (maybe my premonition was more true than my current hunch), but I just feel it's the year of the Blues.
The Bruins had such an easy path to the Final (two wild card teams + Toronto) they won't know what they are up against.
So there, I've got my bases covered. Either way I'm good

It does feel like the year of the Blues.
As I've said numerous times in these hockey threads I'm only a very casual fan of the sport; hell, I don't even understand half of it. But I AM a sports fan in general and the "mojo" factor applies regardless of the sport. I've seen it in baseball and football (the sports I follow closely) where sometimes certain teams just seem "destined" to win.
The Blues were in last place in January when they started using a rookie goalie and all of a sudden the team just took off.
I've also seen the "Cinderella slipper" fall off in the post-season too so who knows?
But I'll tell you one thing, I am SO SICK of the song "Gloria".
