My predictions.

I don't trust the Flames offense translating well into playoff hockey. And the Avs have played well of recent. I don't even see it as an upset if Colorado wins. It's a coin flip series.

There's a couple others: Nashville - Dallas. This is going to be an extremely low scoring series. 1-0 or 2-0 scores, depending on if an empty net is hit or not. Could swing either way when margins are that small.

Islanders - Penguins. Lehner is hot and the Isles have Barry Trotz, but the Penguins are the Penguins. What they desperately need is Malkin to be the player he can be. He has sucked so far this season, and needs to step up. So many x-factors here that it's not possible to call a favourite.

I get it. Avs have been better but playoff hockey is different and they are so inconsistent.

By the way, do you really believe Columbus will upset Tampa Bay? I think you're on your own on that one. I do hope the series isn't a sweep, but I can't see Columbus getting to seven games. They'll win one, two tops.

Bob is that good, and they have untapped potential with their star deadline pick ups.

They are also ready for battle, having played playoff hockey the last few weeks, while the Bolts have had it easy.

I think it's a close series. First round always sees its fair share of upsets, and I think the Jackets are one of those dangerous teams where if everything gels, they can make a Cup run.

After game ones, I'm currently 4/8. Basically as good as a coin in predicting results.

No one. But the Avs did what I expected and forgot to show up. They lose tonight and I doubt they can come back.

Well, now Columbus has a 3-0 series lead. I doubt even Lari would have predicted this would have happened, even if he predicted they'd win the series.

They won last night. So we'll see what happens next.

They did and it might have changed the series. I'm hopeful.

Wow, they blew out Calgary. And the rook came in with a goal right off.

Amazing.

Columbus not only upset Tampa Bay in the first round, but they swept the series four games to none.

I doubt anyone called that except some rabid Columbus fans.

I was thinking that as well. Even the very few who really did believe they could pull it off probably predicted it would be in seven games, maybe six. Not four.

The others are still too close to call. Three series tied 2-2. Caps are up 2-1 (I have the Caps, so that's also going well).

Calgary flamed out early, and I'm now 3/3. Should have bet money on this thing.

This is the Avs we saw at the beginning of the season, hoping they stay like this.

And the Jets bow out. I'm now 4/4.

Caps rout the Hurricanes, and are up 3-2.
