How is that Ian Anderson album??? Tull is one of my favorite bands but I have yet to hear that solo album.
Personally I don't care for it but to be fair, I really haven't given it repeat listens. As I'm sure you know, Tull albums generally take multiple spins to "sink in" (at least most of the time). Multiple reviews I read of "Homo Erraticus" described it as a "Tull album" despite it going under Ian's solo catalogue. After one spin I didn't hear enough to revisit it to see if that's true or not but my initial impression was that it didn't sound like a Tull album nor was it in the style of Anderson's other recent solo outings so it sort of left me cold. I'm sure I'll visit it again when I get bored with music - which is usually when I find myself digging up Tull/Anderson albums.
I enjoyed it. I don't own any of his other albums, and I only own three Tull albums. Not sure why, as I do enjoy his music quite a bit. Either way, I can't really compare this to anything else. I did dig it, but I only listened to it once. I'm not really in a prog mood at the moment, you know.
I will probably pick up a copy if I see it for cheap. Two of the best Jethro Tull albums IMHO are Songs From The Wood and Heavy Horses - if you do not have either I highly recommend you pick them up. They can usually be found cheap for the original CD pressing and the first set of remasters that were done in 2003 or later(cannot really remember what year exactly) and those ones sound quite good and come with some really great bonus tracks.

I used to own most of the Tull albums, but sold them when I was in the Air Force and had no room in my dorm room. Hate that I had to do that. =(
That was like 20 years ago, though, so I should probably re-buy them at some point. Right now I only have Catfish Rising, Roots to Branches, and Crest of a Knave.

Those are my two favorite Tull albums too (along with Aqualung and Catfish Rising). I've bought the Steven (Porcupine Tree) Wilson remixes of both those albums (and Minstrel In The Gallery and Aqualung) and even though I don't really have the stereo equipment to really appreciate all the subtle nuances in the various remix/remasters in any of them, even the factory-issue Bose system in my car reveals a difference. Everything is just "brighter" and "sharper". And if you have decent home stereo equipment I can't recommend the Wilson remixes highly enough. Steven Wilson is a huge Tull fan and he agreed to do these albums because he's such a huge fan of the band and the guy is a studio wizard.

Legs (Single Mix) Gimme All Your Lovin (Live) Sharp Dressed Man (Live) I Got the Six (Live) TV Dinners (Live) Got Me Under Pressure (Live) Legs (Dance Mix)
Also, the album has the original version of "Legs" restored to the album proper, rather than the single version which was on most pressings.

Thanks. That's what I was afraid of; a couple of alternate mixes and some live tracks.
I hate when bands do that. At least The Answer put a bunch of unreleased studio tracks on most of their "alternate releases". I'm not re-buying an album I already have just for a bunch of remixes and live tracks.

Is that L.A. Guns bonus track worth a crap or is it the proverbial "(demo)" or worse yet "(live)" bonus track?

The bonus track is "Winters Fool" and this version is the 1988 version with Phil Lewis. There's a demo version with Paul Black on vocals but the version on the Japanese release is exclusive for Japan and I'm assuming it was left off the album for some reason.

The debut is killer. Only 8 tracks, but they are all great. The album is a good mix of '70's progressive rock. hard rock. and a bit of Zep influence mashed together. I have to admit it was weird not hearing "Angel Theme" before "Tower" like it is on the Anthology. That's the disc I have owned the longest and played the most. I first put these guys on the want list about 12 years ago (thanks to NLTM) and then found the Anthology for $5 at a small comic book store that sells used music. But, after about 8 years or so of not finding anything in the used shops (and online they were still asking $20-25 for Angel originals), I took them off the want list. A few weeks back I was in my local shop and I ran across the whole discography for an average of $8 each, so I started picking 'em up one by one. Two more to go.
