What SPORTS did you watch today? (2018)

I knew this would happen.  The Cardinals play great against the Pirates taking 3 of 4 then play the lowly Marlins next.  I knew we'd play like crap.  We lost 7-4 last night and are losing 6-2 tonight.

Geez the Cards have looked horrible tonight; errors, misplays, bad pitches, etc.  Same as last night; all we need is to bring in Brett Cecil to really put the game out of reach.  That guy is just awful and we're stuck with him for two more years.  At least we can tell Holland to hit the road after this year.

Red was managing the Cardinals when I became a Cardinal fan back in 2nd grade.   And every year since he still dressed in the Cardinals uniform and would hit fungoes.  People would ask him why he still did it and he always said young ballplayers kept him young.

They mentioned his passing during the Pirates game.

The pirates ended up winning that game 11-9 despite our bullpencil's best efforts to blow it.

And of course the Cardinals DID bring in Brett Cecil and he DID suck.

Last night's game was so bad that Jedd Gyorko pitched the 9th.

Cardinals managed to salvage the final game against the Marlins 4-1 today.  Next it's off to play the mighty Reds.  We managed to take 3 of 4 from Pittsburgh then got blasted by the Marlins for two games.  Go figure.

I saw the Washington Capitals play against the Vegas Golden Knights, and the Capitals won the Stanley Cup for the first time ever.

Watched the Pirates lose to the Chicago Maddons this afternoon.

Now I'm watching the Cardinals try like hell to give a game away to the team with the worst record in the NL, the Reds.  6-4 Cardinals in the 9th.

Watching the floundering Pirates at the Cubs.

Watching the Cardinals struggling with the Reds again.  STL jumped out to a 5-0 lead and with Wacha on the mound you'd figure that would be enough.  It's now 5-2 in the 6th which isn't bad but Wacha appears to be running out of gas and we have NOBODY I trust in the bullpen.

EDIT:  As expected, the Cardinals bullpen is crumbling.  6-4 STL in the 8th.  We just have NO ONE who can come in for the 7th and 8th innings.

Watched the Yankees and Mets last night.

Watching the Cardinals finally lose to the Reds after winning 12 straight from them.   Cardinal pitchers have walked 11 Reds batters (!)

I caught the last 2 innings of the Pirates and Cubs. The Pirates finally beat the Cubs 7-1 on a foggy rainy afternoon. Amazingly ,the Pirates pitching staff only gave up 6 runs over three games and lost 2 of three. On to Arizona next for the Bucs.

A late game for the Bucs and D Backs so I only saw the first few innings. Last I saw the Pirates had a 1-0 lead. Found out this morning the Pirates had a 5-0 lead into the 7th. After pulling Musgrove with a 3 run lead, the bullpencil promptly gives up 7 more runs (2 on wild pitches) and the Pirates ended up losing 9-5. Terrible baseball.

Pirates at D Backs. Arizona scored 6 runs off Trevor Williams thanks to 3 errors on the Buccos in the first. Time to turn it off and put myself out of misery watching this pathetic excuse for a team.

I watched the Cardinals lose to a bullpen start by San Diego. 

I knew that would happen; throw a series of guys we've never or seldom seen before and we're toast.  The sad thing is that it's been that way for decades.  Cards lost 4-2.

Watched the Nationals beat the Yankees 5-4.

Watched the Pirates salvage the last game against the Diamondbacks 5-4. The Bucs had a 3 run lead going into the 9th, but naturally the bullpencil let Arizona score 2 and leave the bases loaded before notching the last out.

Yesterday I watched the Cardinals lose to the Padres again 4-2.  So we played 9 games against Miami, Cincinnati and San Diego and went a pathetic 4-5 against three of the weakest teams in the NL.

Watched the Pirates win their second game in a row for the first time in about a month with a 3-2 victory over the Reds.

I watched about 20 minutes of the Cardinals/Cubs and that was more than enough.  Last I checked it was 11-2 Cubs; Wacha was absolutely shelled giving up 9 runs in 4 innings.

I saw that score. And against the Cubs of all teams.

Yeah it was painful

Watched the Pirates take the 2nd game of the series with the Reds 6-2. Nova pitched a good game, his 2nd one in a row after coming off the DL.
