| Believe it or not I haven't even been to Busch Stadium 3 yet. And it's 10 years old or something like that. I don't like going down there; last year a person inside the stadium was grazed by a bullet fired outside the stadium. We also had that robbery in a stadium parking lot a couple years ago that left a man paralyzed. Why risk that when I can see every single game on TV? It's a shame because going to a Cardinal game used to be a favorite way for friends to meet. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

That's incredible and terribly sad. I never heard of anything like that happening, at least at a ballgame.

| It is.
When I first moved here over 20 years ago, I would park my car in a free parking lot outside of downtown STL and take the Metrolink (the downtown light rail system) to the ballpark to avoid the outlandish parking fees.
No way I'd do that now. Those trains have become the Serengeti Plains for all the predatory lions in the area.
And we're not alone. Remember that Dodger fan who was beaten to a pulp at a Giants game several years ago (or it was the other way round, I can't remember). Stuff like that never used to happen at baseball games.
St. Louis is a hellhole. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I usually try to get down there and go to a game or 2 early in the season, before it gets really hot and humid. My wife likes to go, too...my kids not so much. My 12 year old has major crowd anxiety and freaks out if she's around a large group of people she doesn't know and my 8 year old has the attention span of a goldfish and wants to leave as soon as we sit down.

| Watching the Cards/Brewers game.
Right now it's 6-0 Cardinals in the 6th. Hopefully tonight they can hold on. Last night they were up 4-0 after 5 and lost. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Cardinals won 6-0 over Milwaukee. Carlos Martinez threw like the ace he's supposed to be. 8 1/3 innings, no runs, 3 hits and 10 strikeouts. 114 pitches. Nice to see a supposed ace actually stretch out and throw like one. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Last night I watched the Cardinals air condition Busch Stadium with 13 strikeouts while losing to Arizona 3-1.
They're off today so I guess I'll start Stargate Atlantis tonight. That's what I hate about the start of baseball season; the games are so staggered. Whoever heard of a team having a Friday night off? Your off days are usually Mondays and Thursdays. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Did anyone else see this?
I actually liked Connor McGregor before this incident. He was a brash, ass-kicker who knew how to promote himself. But unless this is a "work" and publicity stunt he's lost his F'n mind.

| Today I watched the Cardinals beat Zach Greinke and the Dbacks 5-3. They got 5 runs and 9 hits off Greinke in 5 innings. They got 4 of Syndergaard of the Mets in the season opener too so they've handled some of the NL's better pitchers pretty well. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Wacha couldn't throw a strike to save his life in that first inning...painful to watch. Glad the offense showed up and pulled off the win.

| Watched the Pirates beat the Reds 5-0 today as Jameson Taillon pitches a one hit shut out and Polanco adds 2 more RBI to his total. Next up for the Bucs (and their first real test), at the Cubs | |

| Watched the Cards pen blow a nice start by Luke Weaver. The pen blew the game but the Cards only managed 5 hits so even if the pen had pitched well it probably wouldn't have mattered.
As expected, win one, lose one. That how I expect the whole season to be. The Cardinals aren't terrible but they're not real good either. I think we're looking at another 85+ win season at best. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I "watched" that on MLB network while I was working today. The Pirates tried like hell to blow it but ended up winning 8-5 which made me happy because I hate the Cubs; everyone seems to think the NL Central teams should just hand them the division title. News Flash! This is a competitive division where the only team that's not very good is the Reds. The teams in the NL Central will probably just beat the crap out of each other the whole season. And even the Reds will get their licks in because they have a good offense. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Yeah their bullpen has been a bit iffy but that's about the only blemish on this otherwise ultra surprising start to the season.
