What SPORTS did you watch today? (2018)

I really enjoy MLB Network...and I didn't even know I had it until a few years ago when my parents were visiting and I came home to find my Dad watching some random AL game.  I said "What channel is that?" and he said "I don't know; I was just looking for a ball game to watch"

Now that I work from home I watch that channel all the time.  It's cool to see all these teams and hear what their home announcers sound like.  Today's Cubs/Pirates games was using the Cubs announcers and they were kinda "meh".  Last time I watched a Cubs game on "their" network Steve Stone was doing commentary.

Plus I really like MLBN's analysis shows too.  MLB Central, MLB Tonight, High Heat (although that one took me awhile to get used to because Chris Russo is really grating)...

Watching the Cardinals once again struggle to score against a slopballing lefthander. 

I swear they've been like this since I was a kid.  Bring on the Nolan Ryans, Randy Johnsons, and whatever other fireballers you can name and we'll be OK.  Throw some southpaw with a fastball that tops out in the upper 80s and we're toast.  Tonight the Cardinals didn't even have a hit until the 5th inning.

The Cards aren't going to be able to live on extra inning walk-offs the whole season, that's for sure.
They need to do what they used to do, which is get ahead early and play great defense.

And they lost today 3-2.  This offense has looked anemic.

Currently watching the Reds and Phillies.

Watched the Penguins take it to the Flyers last night, dominating the game on the way to a 7-0 win.

Watched the Pirates beat the Chicago Maddons on MLB Network today.
Cards @ Reds later tonight.

I caught the last inning of that Cubs and Pirates game. I love when the Cubs lose.

And I really don't care who beats them either.

Cardinals are destroying the Reds 12-4 in the 7th.

This was a competitive game until the 7th when the Cards scored 7 off the Reds' pen.

I watched the Penguins look rather lethargic in their 5-1 loss to the Flyers.

Watched the Cards beat up on the Reds again today 6-1.  This is what they're supposed to do, beat up on the weaker teams.  That's 3 in a row over the Reds.

Now I'm preparing to watch 4 hours of UFC fights on Fox.  I love when they do this!  They show all the prelims plus the main fights so it's a 4 hour marathon of people beating the crap out of each other.

Currently watching the Cardinals/Reds as STL tries to sweep the 4 game series.  It's 3-1 STL going to the bottom of the 9th.  This has all the earmarks of a game the Cards' bullpen will screw up.

EDIT:  And right on cue, Bud Norris gives up a solo shot to lead off the inning.

EDIT2:  They hung on for a 3-2 win and a four game sweep of the Reds.  Off to play the Chicago Maddons.

Hopefully the Cards will carry some confidence from sweeping the Reds into Chicago for this series with the Cubs.

Watched the Rangers and Astros last night. Great pitching duel between Bartolo Colon and Justin Verlander.

Cardinals are "wintered out" tonight in Chicago. Wind chills were supposed to be around 20 at game time.

Anyone see the last part of the game between the Lightning and Devils yesterday night? That was simply intense.

Watching the Cardinals/Cubs game being played in wind chills in the low 20s.

The Cardinals just got 3 runs in the 8th off one of my "favorite" pitchers, crooked-hat-wearing Pedro Strop.  Take that Hat Boy!!!

Watching the Indians and Twins.

Cardinals were snowed out again.  Good grief there have been a TON of postponements around MLB this year.  I saw the Pirates actually gave anyone who attended last night's game a voucher for a future game just for braving the miserable weather conditions.

Just watched the Cards beat the Reds again 4-3. Going back to last year that's 10 straight wins against the Reds.

Watched the Cards sweep the Reds for the second time in a week.  DeJong hit his 7th homer.
