More Stargate SG-1 on the elliptical today. I'm up to Season 6. It's amazing how this show keeps me coming back to the elliptical every day. Since I started watching SG-1 back in September I've only missed 7 days of working out.

Godzilla:Planet Of The Monster (2017)
Toho produced anime set in the future where Earth is overrun with monsters. Godzilla appears and wipes just about everything out, with mankind causing Earth's atmosphere to catch fire. Mankind (along with humanoid alien allies) cuts and runs to the stars, trying to find a new hospitable planet. After 21 years in space of fruitless searching, it's decided to return to Earth in the hopes of finding it livable again. A warp jump back and it's discovered that Earth's atmosphere is not breathable and worse, Godzilla still exists, despite it being 20,000 years later Earth-time. I just found out about this recently and decided to give it a shot. I found it rather enjoyable. And to top it off I found out it's the first of a trilogy. Looking forward to catch the rest of them.

Crap! The first time I read that post I missed the third word in the first sentence and was getting all excited for a new Toho monster movie, especially since I decided to pass on the last "Shin Godzilla" movie because I read so many reviews complaining about how much time it wastes with the stupid human plot. I don't think I'm interested in "anime" Godzilla.

"Atomic Blonde" (2017)
This slick, stylish, ultra violent spy flick stars Charlize Theron as an MI6 agent sent to East Germany, where she has to escort a Russian defector who possesses an important document to the West before the Berlin Wall comes down. Charlize is a babe, of course, and it's tons of sadistic fun watching her shoot, punch, kick, and generally beat the crap out of every bad guy who crosses her path. Not a must-see, but an entertaining butt kicker with some impressive stunt work and a great soundtrack of '80s Euro-pop (incl. Nena, Re-Flex, Depeche Mode, Peter Schilling, David Bowie, and more).

Yeah there was a lot of human backstory in this (and in this case I guess it was necessary) and Godzilla didn't really show up until there was a half hour left in the movie. Like I said, though, I thought it was pretty decent.

Ants !
A 1977 TV movie about a lakeside resort overrun by a colony of venomous ants due to nearby construction. Despite some silly lapses in logic, it wasn't a bad little flick with a decent cast including Robert Foxworth, Myrna Loy, the delectable Lynda Day George and Suzanne Somers, and Brian Denehy.

"Devil's Express" (aka "Gang Wars," 1976)
A pair of streetwise New York martial artists travel to Hong Kong for a tournament and accidentally bring home an ancient Chinese demon, which takes up residence in the Harlem subway tunnels and begins eating unlucky straphangers. Murder, mayhem and poorly choreographed fight scenes ensue. I have wanted to see this batsh*t insane no-budget mash up of the blaxploitation, kung-fu, and horror genres ever since I first came across the trailer on YouTube, and witnessed the mighty Afro of the heroic Warhawk Tanzania in action - (by the way, "Warhawk Tanzania" is the COOLEST movie-hero name EVER, hands down). Thanks to Amazon Prime I was finally able to knock this trashy nugget off of my bucket list. Make no mistake, this movie's a total mess, but it's an entertaining one!

Finishing up Godzilla vs. Megalon, one of the sillier Godzilla flicks with plenty of wrestling action between the titular monsters, plus Given and giant robot Jet Jaguar. Silly as it is, I'd much rather watch this than that dumpster fire of a halftime show at the Super Bowl, which is when I started this.

Started watching 'Black Mirror' on Netflix. 3 episodes in. Cool, weird stuff. It's a Twilight Zone for the 21st century.

Masters of Horror:Cigarette Burns(2005)-An eccentric millionaire hires a struggling movie theater owner to track a down a copy of La Fin Absolue Du Monde(The Absolute End of the World), a film that is said to be responsible for driving anyone who watches it insane and commit murder. Starring Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) and directed by genre favorite John Carpenter. I give it 3 out of 5 chainsaws.

I need to watch that again. I was watching it, but then got distracted and missed the middle parts and gave up on the end cause I was lost. Is it good all the way through, or am I not missing much?

I gotta re-visit "Masters of Horror" one of these days. I remember digging that show back when it first aired but it's been dog years since I've seen any of'em...

My favorite MoH is still Argento's "Jenifer". I like the one with the dueling serial killers too (forget the name of it).
EDIT: I looked it up. It's Larry Cohen's "Pick Me Up"

MoH is like any other anthology; some episodes are great, some are meh and some suck.
