Wow! I haven't thought of Starz in forever. They have some great tunes but they all run together in my memory. I know I used to listen to "Coliseum Rock" a lot so I need to see what songs are on that.
EDIT: I guess I spent most of my time listening to the "Violation" album because all the Starz songs I remember seem to be on that one. I know I listened to the ST and Coliseum Rock back in the day tho.

I used to have 'Attention Shoppers' on vinyl, and it was horrible, thou if I saw it used on CD I would grab it. 'Violation' is pretty damn good and if it had been released in 1983 or 4 instead of 1977, Starz might have actually become Stars. I have not spun 'Coliseum Rock' as of yet.

You're not alone. I don't even try them anymore.

Oh, yes! Primal Fear are fantastic. I was cranking some PF on the way home from work the other night. Happy B Day, Mike.

I have not heard a note of their music yet, but with Mike from Suffocation (one of my favorite death metal bands) being involved, I figured I'd order it.

Me neither, although I've thought about it and probably got out-bid on that and other Dirty Looks cds many times.

It's been awhile since I've felt motivated to actually order some new music, instead of the usual dumpster-diving at the local thrift shops. Most of these are courtesy of eBay or Amazon.
Guns 'n Roses - Appetite for Destruction Super Deluxe Box Set Burning Brides - Leave No Ashes Burning Brides - Hang Love Pride Tiger - The Lucky Ones Paul Gilbert - Fuzz Universe Bernie Torme - Back to Babylon Suicidal Tendencies - No Mercy Fool! The Suicidal Family Dee Snider - For the Love of Metal Suicidal Tendencies - Get Your Fight On! Duel - Fears of the Dead* Duel - Witchbanger*
*Those 2 were purchased through All That Is Heavy's website summer sale.

Why bother bidding? You can get the thing used on Amazon for about $10 incl. shipping.

I found my Dirty Looks albums (Cool From The Wire, Turn Of The Screw, Five Easy Pieces, and Chewing On The Bit) at used stores. Except for Turn Of The Screw, they were all under $10.

Sometimes, I just like the thrill of bidding on stuff I kinda want, but not too upset if I don't. Sure I could just straight-up buy it, but where's the fun in that? . As a wise man once said, the chase is better than the catch.

I am sorry, sir! To be honest, Toho, I had never even heard of them until I found the NLTM website back in 2006. I read Ult's reviews and they immediately went on the huge want list of over 2,000 albums. At that time, however, the prices on '80's Metal albums were crazy due to the resurgence in popularity; so, I waited a lot of things out to let the prices drop. The list has since been whittled down to about 150 must haves. I did purchase about a thousand of the list in the last decade or so. And some were simply taken off as they were just superfluous wants. So, there you are, the full backstory. The album is fantastic. I have been cranking it in the car the last few days. Faves are "Ruby" and "Get Off" and "It's No the Way You Rock" while "Put A Spell On You" is killer as well. I find it amazing how much the late Henrik Ostergaard sounds like the late Bon Scott on "Ruby". It's almost like a lost AC/DC tune. Haha.

This too. for awhile, it was hard to find a reasonably priced copy, so I'd try winning one on eBay. After multiple loses, I'd just given up and forgot about them.

Oh, yeah, no doubt. That's why certain things got dropped off from the want list. After a few times getting outbid, and/or the prices not dropping, I realized I could listen on youtube when I got the hankering for a particular band or artist. I don't feel bad as a long defunct '80's Metal band would see no profit from me buying a used copy of one of their albums from a 3rd party vendor. Ha.
