I like that Flogging Molly album. The others? Eh, I gave up on NiN with that album and I can take or leave Tom Petty. I have his single disc "Greatest Hits" album and frankly that's all I need so a 2 disc set probably contains stuff I'd skip.
But as you said, at less than a buck apiece those are all still good pickups.
I've never owned anything from NiN. I've liked some songs here and there that I've heard over the years but I'm not big on that industrial metal stuff. I could probably make a decent comp of NiN material cherry picked from all their albums though.
Welp, I think it's safe to say I'm not converting to the church of Nine Inch Nails anytime soon. I like the 3 singles from this album ('March of the Piggies', 'Closer' and 'Hurt'), but other than that, Trent's bleak, industrial soundscape doesn't do much for me. It reminds me too much of all the stuff I didn't like about music in the 90's. Ripped it to the computer, now into the sale pile it goes.
On the other hand, I think I'll be investing in some more Flogging Molly. I'm not Irish, but I like what I hear. It angers up the blood and makes me want to fight, then a ballad comes on and I want to cry in my beer. Always the mark of good music.
I'll hang onto the Tom Petty discs too, for nostalgic reasons.

For my money there are only two Nine Inch Nails albums worth owning, Pretty Hate Machine and Broken.
Trent hasn't come even close to anything as good as this track from the Broken EP:

Yea, that tune's pretty bitchin' too. Too bad NIN doesn't have a "Best of" album. I'd probably dig that.

I don't have the "thrift store mojo" that Sir Fat Fredo does as all I found at my local Goodwill was a Best of Great White cassette for half a buck. My kid found a DVD though (Cloudy w/a Chance of Meatballs 2) so she was happy.

Oh, hell yes!! I remember taping the title track off the radio on a Sunday night on the ZRock 50 show and couldn't get the riff out of my head. Awesome band.
Just got back from a little local place:
Edguy - Vain Glory Opera (CD) The collection is now complete.

I saw Drivin' n' Cryin' in a little club in New Haven, CT during their "Smoke" tour. They were soooooo loud!!! Much, much heavier than I expected especially on the song "Turn It Up Or Turn It Off". Even classics like Honeysuckle Blue were heavy. I didn't even get to see the whole show because my girlfriend wanted to leave due to a headache.
