Would it help if you tagged 5 songs as "bonus track"?

After giving Firepower a fresh listen, i do think it's pretty solid. I would shave off probably 5 of the 14 songs though. Then release those later as an EP with some kinda of Firepower themed title...like Stray Bullets or something.
I'm glad you're not employed by the Priest camp. Ripping off fans like that!
Maybe I should just make my own.
Having a kickass tight album and a nice bonus EP is a win to me instead of a bloated record where I lose interest before it ends.
You can paypal me $10 and pretend you were sold an EP on top of the album.
I'm happy having all the songs from the sessions on the same disc.
You are lucky that artists seem to feel they need to fill the entire space alloted to them on CDs. That was the worst thing in the early 90s, when CD became the primary media and bands started just writing to fill those up. So much filler and mediocre stuff committed to disc just because the space was there.

They used to release those same songs as b-sides and compilation bonus tracks.
I say consumers get a better deal now.

Maybe. But one thing that was nice when I let go of the completist mindset was that I realized not everything a band I like feels inclined to record is worth owning.

I tried playing Redeemer of Souls last week since Firepower got me all Pumped for Priest, but man that mix is so horrible it wrecks the experience.
In fact, I'm beginning to think the thing that Firepower has going for it is the beefy production. It's thick, huge, and other dirty adjectives. THIS is the way modern heavy metal should sound.
I haven't revisited Redeemer of Souls in full since getting Firepower for that very reason. I do, however, really like the versions of the RoS tracks that are on their Battle Cry live album from 2016.

I was once there too. There are two things that altered my brain's desire to own everything from bands I like:
1. I sold off my whole CD/record collection when I quit my job to go back to school in 2006. Rebuilding it from scratch now...there is no way I will ever pay money to own Peter Criss' 78 solo album or Carnival of Souls. Those records can eat shit. Ha.
2. Getting into Bob Dylan. Holy shit. It's cool that some of this stuff is available for die hard fans who must own every recording he ever made, but when 14-disc box sets starting coming out that cover only a single album or year, and some of those discs contain 17 versions of the same song only...too much. The 2-disc 'highlights' CD for each of those box sets suffice quite nicely and generally form cohesive companion albums to the proper album.

KK Downing, Les Binks, Tim Ripper Owens, David Ellefson and AJ Mills play a full Priest show in a club owned by KK.
Whole show is on Youtube, that's just one song.

I've scene a couple of those a few weeks ago. Really cool shit there, though I don't know what it has to do with the Firepower album lol
Would definitely love to catch a show like that though. If memory serves, isn't Tim Owens singing too?

It's like Priest and Downing are in a competition to see who can break out the most deep cuts. JP had a ton of them on the most recent leg of the Firepower tour. This was Downing and crew's set recently:
Riding the Wind The Green Manalishi Hell Is Home Running Wild Beyond the Realms of Death Exciter Metal Gods Burn in Hell Before the Dawn Between the Hammer and the Anvil Hell Bent for Leather Living After Midnight --- Take on the World Breaking the Law
Rob Halford said Priest will be including more rare stuff in their upcoming 50th anniversary tour as well. Diehard fans have to be losing their minds of late!

The KK group has 3 former Priest members, including Les Binks who was the drummer on my favourite Priest record (Stained Class), and others like Killing Machine and Sin After Sin.
The other Priest basically has Rob Halford and Ian Hill (and Scott Travis).

Why do I get the feeling people are going to start arguing who the more Priest each band is? Kinda reminds me of when Venom Inc. formed a few years ago.

It doesn’t make sense for Priest to continue without KK. Especially with Tipton unable to play live anymore. I like Ritchie in the band, but it makes sense for an original guy to play 2nd guitar.

Yeah I would love it if KK came back, but it is what it is. When he retired he made it pretty clear he was no longer interested in playing with them anymore. Of course now I think he's been wanting to come back, but I think he burned that bridge.
If he came back, do you think Ritchie would have to die his hair brown?

I say embrace both of them!
It's kind of like with Queensryche these days: this February in Boston I'll have a chance to see a Todd-Ryche show and then Geoff Tate playing the entire Rage for Order and Empire albums within a matter of two weeks.
I hope this KK lineup picks up some momentum and starts touring.

Richtie stated in a recent interview that he already has a lot of fresh ideas for the upcoming album and that the band, along with Tipton, is about to start the writing process soon.
Always in the mood for new Priest material. The last two were simply awesome .

Fresh ideas without Glenn Tipton’s guidance is just a Lauren Harris album.
