- Yeah big time "food coma" coming on here.
I haven't eaten that much turkey since last Thanksgiving. But it was soooooo good...
And I weighed myself before the big pig-out and I've lost over 55 pounds since last Thanksgiving so I figured "Screw it!"; I can gorge for one day a year! Wow! Well done! Congrats.

| It's amazing what cutting back on the beer will do, especially the beers I drink. When I started checking the calorie content of the beers I drink I was amazed. Most of them weigh in at over 300 calories per 12 oz. So I was generally taking in over 1000 calories a day JUST IN BEER. I also started doing cardio more religiously (about 27 or 28 days a month over the last year). I had started slacking on cardio. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I'm happy for you Toho. I discovered cardio in my late-30's (over strength...although I still lift enough to maintain base-level strength for work) and see no end in my cardio career. I believe it'll be the key to enjoying traveling/grandkids when those days come. | |

| I've moved away from weights due to joint pain and am doing more calisthenics which is actually fun. Not as big as I was but at 50, I don't care. | |

| Yeah that's how I feel too. I've still got free weights in the basement that I haven't touched in years due to joint pain and arthritis. So I'm too old to be a gym rat like I was 25 years ago; I'm approaching 60 years old for cryin' out loud, who the hell am I trying to impress???? Screw that; as long as I'm not the proverbial "fat tub of goo" (credit to David Letterman's description of Dodger reliever Terry Forster back in the day). _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Almost "ditto". Yeah, I'm not persuing size and strength "or bust" just trying to be leaner/lighter. Lifting much lighter weights in bodybuilding style instead of powerlifting style. Heavy lifting taking its toll. I want to keep my weight in the 160's in my 40's, and then 150's in my 50's and retirement.

I want to keep my weight in the 160's in my 40's, and then 150's in my 50's and retirement. I have been running for over 30 years. About 5 times a week for approximately 7 kms per run. Some push-ups too. I think this is an excellent way to stay in good shape. I was into martial arts long ago but those days are long gone. I will probably get my ass kicked now in a thai boxing fight
