| I read on Blabbermouth over the weekend that Retroactive Records is going to re-issue D's "RIVER DISTURBANCE" album soon with a bunch of bonus tracks. This follows their "deluxe" 2-CD reissue of Deliverance's ASSIMILATION album that came out a while ago. Which would be fine except that RIVER DISTURBANCE was a total piece of crap (IMO of course) and ASSIMILATION wasn't much better. Why the heck can't someone simply reissue the Deliverance albums that everybody WANTS (i.e. the S/T debut, WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE, WHAT A JOKE and/or STAY OF EXECUTION) already?? The way things are going, we're gonna see a "deluxe reissue" of CAMELOT IN SMITHEREENS next before we ever see the really good stuff reissued!!! End rant! | |

| River Disturbance is my favorite out of the questionable big D releases in the 90s. But I second that thought. Re-release the early Intense releases. Do the same for the early Vengeance Rising! Roger is hungry! And Sheena Easton! (wait, I think I went too far) |

| I like River Disturbance myself. However, I don't need a reissue as I already have it and can't imagine the bonus material will be much more than demo material.
I have the Assimilation reissue. The bonus disc is one you will listen to once and then probably never again.
I think the Intense stuff is all tied up in contracts, otherwise I am sure that Retroactive would JUMP at the chance to re-release Weapons. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| I love 'River Disturbance'... Also, the other ones are owned by bigger companies who want more $$ for them...'River...' was pretty much indie & Jimmy owns it.... |

End rant! Well I'll explain, All the cd's released on Intence Records are owned by KMG who has the rights...They will want Jimmy to pay them for the rights..So your stuck....Now a way to get around it would be to re record them and claim them as new works... Much Like Ozzy did when they re recorded the bass and drum tracks from the first two records...End of music biz lesson...

Thanks Glenn... yea, I had a feeling the reasons were something along those lines... so the KMG guy would rather sit on them (and let the bootleggers make all the $$ that HE could be making with their inferior copies) rather than make the fans happy?? The music business really is a strange place....

Well, hey, with that kinda dough you can afford to supersize your Extra Value Meal, and you'd still have enough left over to feed the parking meter.... But seriously, wow, that sucks!

| Any idea on how much the guy is asking for the rights on those songs if he'd sell em to y'all or anyone? | |

Yea, let's take up a collection and see if we can buy 'em from the KMG guy... we could start our own label right here on the board! "Heart of No Life Til Metal Metropolis Records" Has a nice ring to it eh? Might be a little tough to squeeze all that into a company logo though.

| I know that is the harsh reality of the business, but I couldn't imagine pouring my heart into an album that I have no control of the distribution of. Maybe one day the record companies will all go under and everyone will be DIY. I'm sure KMG is real close to that point right now. |

| This seems to be a big problem with most older Christian bands. It sucks but at least that kind of problem will occur less and less now that the market has become more accepting of Christians. Plus Christian bands and labels learned the lessons of the past and will probably be more business savy because of it (i.e. I doubt albums from Narnia, Extol, Seventh Avenue, etc. will be this difficult to find 10-20 years from now). At least I hope so. | |

End rant! Next thing will be the re-release of Intense Live Series Vol 1 To be honest - I am a little sick of the D re-releases. How many times can you re-release greetings of death and and back in the day? I though assimilation was a fair to below average release to begin with and to re-release just for some tracks someone may listen to once in a blue moon is taking away from the releases that should be made on to cd for the first time. I like the first 3 D releases. They are good metal. I do think that D is really just capitalizing on the name now though. The new one was pretty lousy and it along with assimilation made me wonder - how many copies of this were sold because of the name Deliverance vs how many copies would have been sold if it was under another moniker that brown uses? | I like River alot, but I second the notion that it doesnt need to be re-released. Of all the early Big "D" albums, the first two are pretty much demo-ed out with "Greetings Of Death" and "The First Four Years". I'd like to hear "What A Joke" with about 8 bonus tracks, 4 goofy ones, 2 demos, and 2 unreleased tracks. I'm just being realistic, I have a hunch they probably recorded a bunch of those little goofy tracks and even though I love the speed metal 4 minute songs alot more , the goofy tracks were ok.

Capitalizing? What kind of money do you think they are making off of this? The disc probably sold a couple thousand copies at most, I'm guessing they are in it for the love vice any kind of royalties they may get. I respectfully disagree on their latest release, I think its some of Jimmy's best work musically speaking.

| I like River Disturbance, but I have an original. I can't really see what the reissue would do for me. And As Above, So Below freekin' rules!! A HUGE "return to form" for the big D on that one. | |
