I'm out of the loop, I did not know Ray Parra was back in SW, or that they had new stuff in the works... but hey, here's a new lyric video for "Blood River." Sounds pretty good!

Wow, I didn't think this was ever going to see the light of day. I totally forgot about it, as they put out a teaser video saying it was "coming soon" in March 2018 and then went silent. I looked over at the CMR forum to see if there was any info on the full song, and someone said that Ray is once again out of the band, and this is the last SW song that will feature him.
I don't know, the song is ok and I'm sure they mean well, but it just gets frustrating when a band can't keep its lineup together, doesn't give the fans any info on what's going on, and doesn't play any shows live (even in their local area). IMO, against that background it's unrealistic to expect anyone to get excited about the release of one track.

I'm pretty stoked. I remember running across this thread back in the day...
...and being BLOWN AWAY by the song posted there (why I didn't post is anyone's guess). These guys have always maintained a killer sound. Lots of talent. Wicked Generation was quite a ride. This track sounds rockin' with a great choir bit and some outstanding work by Parra!

Honestly that could just be Dad-Band-Syndrome. These guys seem to be studio-bound and probably can't afford time past their current commitments to pursue full-time activity. I'm just speculating here, but at their age, and with a lack of demand or fanbase as icing on the cake, it must be hard enough just to put an album together.

Yeah from what I understand a full album is coming but Rey is already gone. I thought Eli did a good job on the last one but other than the lead track his vocals seem to be buried in the mix of the other songs. I bought the album based on "Waiting In Darkness" alone because it was such an awesome song but the rest is just OK, mainly because I cann't hear Eli.
Curious to know whats up with these guys and if Rey is in or out (other than just rumors).
In other news about another band (SAINT) they posted a video of their new singer and he sounds pretty good. https://www.facebook.com/saintband/

Pretty modern, but not bad.

So, SW put out an album 6 years ago? Man, I don't have a clue what is going on. But that Waiting in Darkness tune is pretty good! A little more old school than this new song.

I guess I need to check out Waiting in Darkness again. I listened to it once and remember thinking that the band sounded out of touch with the genre.

Waiting in Darkness is decent enough but the vocals get buried too much.

That song isnt too bad. Not really what you’d expect from SW sound wise though. Has a little swagger to it. I always liked them back in the day.
