Ah. In two days time it's my weekly beer night. We have a bar with rock karaoke and when you get in you pay about 8 dollars and have a open bar on beer - meaning as much beer as you can handle. And this is every week.

Just read a story in the paper yesterday that three people were arrested near a local college campus for selling 3 cases of "Four Loko" to an undercover cop.
Apparently since the Food & Drug Administration banned this stuff from store shelves in early December there's now a thriving black market for it on the Internet. The cops set these three up after finding their advertisement on Craigslist. They were asking $335 (!) for the three cases, which included a $47 "delivery charge" to bring it up to the campus from Hudson County. They're charged with selling an alcoholic beverage without a license, which could land them in jail for three years.
Dang. If I'd known this was going to become such a big bootleg item, I would've bought a few when I saw them in my local liquor store around Thanksgiving. Sigh. Another get rich quick scheme passes me by.

I just had a "HC Andersen Eventyr Øl" - a tribute beer to the famous danish author, which comes out only once a year - I found it collecting dust in my "storage room". It's a 9% ABV bastard, but brewed with maiz and added sugar, which gives the beer a nice, refined taste, making you forget how strong the beer actually is - mighty tasty.
I'm also having my second bottle of redwine right now, shared the other with a good friend. We watched Snatch (AWESOME MOVIE!), while drinking a very nice, full bodied redwine from Argentina - Right now I'm having some spanish wine called Gran Feudo, a Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot wine.

Here's a great beer video: this is the brewmaster of a micro-brewery here in NJ (Cricket Hill) giving a welcome speech/anti-corporate beer rant to a tour group at one of his company's tasting parties. Hilarious.

Never tried this guy's beer but now I definitely wanna check it out sometime. This is a guy after my own heart.

I loved the guy's rant. I absolutely HATE mass produced beers; micros are where it's at in my world.

Old Miluakee is pretty decent, and is definitely rock n roll, but once they raised the price where I live, to the same price as premium brands, there wasn't any point anymore.
so those around me who have to budget brew in, there are other inexpensive brands that taste pretty much the same - Laker, and Lakeport (BUT I am even lazier, I just get the big bottles of BullMax, they taste a bit better than St.Ides)
