Carlsberg has unleashed a new summery beer with a lime twist this year. Had one the other night to go with some BBQ. Good stuff for those of you enjoying Sol or Corona and their likes...

Ohhhh man that is bringin' back memories.
But yea, canned Crazy Horse was not a common sight for me either. The classic 40 ouncer was the preferred method of "riding the Horse" (as my friends and I called it) back in the day. The stuff was awful, but it was dirt cheap and it got you where you wanted to go quickly (if you know what I mean) so we drank an ocean of that sheeeeit.
True story: I once drank 2 forties of that stuff in one night. I will never forget how sloppy drunk that made me... you probably could've done brain surgery on me without anesthesia. Amazingly enough, I kept it all down!!!
Even scarier was that after killing those 2 bottles, I was actually considering reaching into the fridge for a 3rd. Fortunately I stopped and I realized "Hey, you know, this is probably not a good idea, maybe I oughta start cutting back a little..."

Unfortunately, I think you've missed out on Crazy Horse, Stenda. As I mentioned, it was taken off the market in the early 90s after protests from American Indian groups about the name. Though I think it may have been revived for a while in the early 00s. I have no idea if it's still out there.

I was just looking for Crazy Horse info on the Net and found a guy who sold a case of 12 Crazy Horse 40's (unopened, in their original box) plus an advertising poster for $60. Dang. Maybe I'll hang onto that full can after all.
I also found this video of a guy drinking a 27 (!) year old beer. Doesn't make it look like a very good idea.
"It tastes like olive juice."

Even more dramatic is this clip of some doofus drinking a 40 year old (!) can of beer:
Uhhh... yeah, I think I'm just gonna leave that old can of Crazy Horse alone.

Four euros for a crate with 24 of these. The taste isn't that bad either.

That can you have was the first time I've seen it packaged like that. Around my parts it was sold in 40 oz bottles like this:
By the way Joe, I still have one of these (empty) 40 oz. Crazy Horse bottles from "Back in the day" at home. I keep my pennies in it.
In case it ever comes up as a question on "Jeopardy" or something, 40 ounces of pennies comes out to about $17.50, give or take.

Back when I was in college 40 ouncers were all the rage. We drank tons of cheap swill from 40s -- Schlitz Malt Liquor, Olde English 800, Midnight Dragon, Crazy Horse, Magnum, Private Stock, Country Club... gawd, I could go on and on.
I doubt my liver could take any of those swill brews now though. It'd probably jump out of my body and run away like "YIPE YIPE YIPE YIPE!"
Anybody remember when you could briefly get ghetto brews like that in SIXTY FOUR ounce bottles, like this one?
Talk about a gift from the Beer Gods to the budget alcoholic! You only needed to buy one bottle!!! Of course, if you didn't drink it fast enough it started to get warm and flat by the time you reached the midway point, but by then you were usually so drunk that it didn't matter anyway.

Put it to you this way: I get a lot of crap around here for my love of Pabst Blue Ribbon, but be-LEEVE me, compared to the ghetto swill I drank backinaday, Pabst Blue Ribbon is a step UP.

Hellz yeah. In college this one was our favorite: MIDNIGHT DRAGON. It came in three varieties (beer, ale, and malt liquor) and a 40 oz. bottle was just $1.25.
...or you could buy a case of 12 for $15. My friends and I used to pool together all of our loose change and singles on a Friday afternoon, hoping we'd have enough $ to go down to the store for a case, cuz it would last us all weekend
Me and a few of my dorm pals from "that era" started a Facebook group a while ago called "The Midnight Dragon Appreciation Society" dedicated to these cheap brews.

The Malt version was my least favorite, actually, I preferred the Ale (green label) or the lager (blue label). The Malt had this nasty, gritty taste to it. Yuck.
