| Various NCAA basketball games. Currently watching Iowa State vs Vanderbilt. Lots of major upsets already this week and some more today including Syracuse over #6 Florida State, Miami over #9 North Carolina and Georgia Tech over #14 Notre Dame ( ) I think I might just pick the teams with cool names and uniforms in this year's March Madness. If it's this unpredictable in late January I might as well forget picking teams using stats come tournament time. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Some FA Cup soccer...Then Clippers/Warriors. Steph Curry had one of his famous "freak-out" games somehow hitting everything he threw up. Not a Warriors fan, but they are amazing to watch. | |

| I watched the end of the Australian Open this morning while I was waiting to give Tux his insulin.
So let's recap: Serena Williams beat Venus Williams for the women's title and Roger Federer beat Rafael Nadal for the men's title. What year is it again???? _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Sports is pretty dead to me for awhile. I'll catch the Super Bowl and the occasional hockey game until baseball returns in a few months. | |

| This is the time of year when I fill in the "sports gap" with college basketball. Especially in two months. I love March Madness. It's become an annual tradition for me to take off from work the first week. Every year I meet some friends from work at iTap (a place with about 40 craft beers on tap) and we watch the first couple days of games. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Watching the pre-game show for Villanova vs Virginia.
Why do I like college basketball? Because of stuff like this: 7 of the top 10 teams lost this week. You just never know... _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| That would be me too if the Rams weren't still in the league. Now the only reason I watch the NFL is to keep relishing how badly they continue to suck.
I actually plugged in some more B5 episodes tonight because my usual Fox fare was replaced by the Miss Universe pageant (yawn). _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I used to watch a ton but now that football is on more than its not I dont think its special anymore. _________________

| I just watched NFL Red Zone all season this year. It's actually really cool when you don't have a team to root for but just want to follow what's going on around the league.
I didn't watch a complete regular season game all year. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I didn't watch a complete regular season game all year. I watched 6 full eagles games but found myself doing other things while watching. I follow baseball a lot but listen on the radio because it allows me to work and enjoy the games. I think the NFL is at the point of over saturation and will come back down to earth soon. _________________

| That's pretty much how I've always watched football. It's on during the day most of the time and I have other stuff to do, especially since Sunday is my housecleaning day. But during baseball season I'm mostly glued to the TV for night games; however on weekend day games I find myself doing other stuff then too.
I'm a huge sports fan but I'm not going to put the rest of my life on hold for it regardless of what sport it is. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I had to subscribe to Premier Boxing Champions email to find out when/where their fights are on. They're on practically every network known to man. Fox, Fox Sports 1, ESPN, Spike, Showtime, CBS, NBC and some other networks I've never even heard of. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I don't know how I missed this, but I think the punishment is a bit harsh, not light. What kind of advantage did the Cardinals gain from this? Unless I'm missing something else, it just seems a bit steep of a price.

| I actually think it's fair. MLB needed to send a message to all the other teams that this kind of corporate espionage will not be tolerated. I don't think the Cardinals gained an advantage but they could have. This would have been a much bigger stink if the team they "hacked" was the Yankees or the Red Sox or the Dodgers.
The part that I don't think is fair though is that this gives the Astros an unfair advantage over the other teams in their division. First they get two top draft picks in addition to the top picks they already had. And add to that the $2M they instantly get. Do they need some power off the bench? Maybe a middle reliever? Well, here's two mil for ya. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I think the Cards got off easy considering signing Fowler was going to cause them to give up the second round pick anyways. I think MLB should have banned the Cards from signing any FA that impacted 1st or 2nd round picks and then the 2nd and 3rd to Houston. _________________

| Actually, the Fowler signing cost the Cardinals the #19 pick overall. - Quote :
- By signing free agent Dexter Fowler, the Cardinals forfeited their top pick, No. 19 overall, meaning the Astros receive the Nos. 56 and 75 overall picks in the June draft, hardly crippling losses for the Cardinals or game-changing acquisitions for the Astros.
I agree that the draft picks aren't too big a deal. I think the 2mil is more important. Since it was payable as a lump sum that helps give the Astros additional money toward getting whatever piece they think they're missing. That's also the largest allowable fine the commissioner can level against a team under the current CBA. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
