Things are generally a lot better now than they were a hundred years ago, socially and health/science-wise and all that. Maybe in some ways... except the middle class isn't doing too good, most jobs are just part time low paying crap. And some countries see America as weak and a shadow of its former influence and strength.

Such a sad state of affairs when these are the choices the two main political parties come up with. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I'm just curious, whether you support some of the things Trump has already set in action or will be soon, is anyone else even a little suspect of a few things?
His attempts to discredit the press (which seems to have worked quite well when it comes to his followers) and label anything that paints him in a bad light as fake news is just...yeah. I mean, (Breitbart doesn't have a bias, is that what he's saying or people are believing? Like, if Hillary had won, Breitbart would be extolling every virtue of hers?)
And the gag order on government scientists and national parks and de-funding or seriously reducing spending regarding scientific and environmental research and just flat out suppressing their findings.
No one else sees any of this as suppression in any way? Feels like the stuff of the most paranoid Megadeth lyrics seeing fruition. It's been hard for me to wrap my head around.

Ha, well I don't know how you voted (if you voted), but I kinda meant the people that voted for him or were generally pro-Trump I guess.

When I was a conservative--which I am in no shape or form am anymore--I, along with my fellow conservatives and our favorite talk show hosts, was steaming over Obama's executive order orgy in his first term. Didn't matter if we agreed with it or not--bottom line was that executive orders were bad and an abuse of power. Several days into Trump's presidency and we get over 10 executive orders signed--conservatives cheer him on??

| All presidents make them Republicans made it sound as if Obama was throwing away centuries of history every time he made one but there are fifteen previous presidents who made more including G W Bush, Clinton & Reagan. Probably understandable the most were made by the two World War presidents (Roosevelt 3522 & Wilson 1803) which put Obama's 275 in 8 years into perspective. But no matter what country you are in these days facts are no match for a good soundbite | |
