I got good news and bad news. Bad news first: Overkill just announced via their official FB that the new CD's release date has been pushed back to February of 2017. (Boooooo!)

The good news is that today they uploaded a 30 second sneaky peek of the new track "Our Finest Hour" to YouTube. So there's that.

And it looks like they're running a stateside tour in 2017!   I know what I want for Christmas.

Well that little "snippet" sounds pretty decent and they usually hit up Pittsburgh but I'm not seeing any venue from there....yet. Fingers crossed.

I do have to say that Overkill, Nile, and Amorphis is a strange tour combination, however.

Count me in for blind buy. They've slayed recently.

These guys seems to be on a killer streak in the last decade, so count me as someone looking forward to this album

Overkill rocks. Their most recent albums have been amazing. Have their entire discography. Can't wait for this one. That snippet sounds promising.

Ellsworth recently told Patch.com about OVERKILL's decision to title its forthcoming album "The Grinding Wheel": "When we were looking for a title, when you think in terms of the word 'grind,' you think of something that is relentless and doesn't wear down, whether it be an old stone mill or something metallic where sparks are flying through it. It's about an all-purpose tool through all time. It's a good, quality OVERKILL record."

Regarding the musical direction of the follow-up to 2014's "White Devil Armory", Ellsworth told Alternative Nation: "At the end of the day, OVERKILL is OVERKILL. Our trademark is that we are always recognizable on every release. For the three decades we have been around, we were always OVERKILL. So, sure, it is a metal record, and like always, it will have sort of a thrash vibe to it with some melody in it."

As long as they have Blitz, they will always be "recognizable'. What they play now is not even close to what they used to play though. Not since 93 anyway.

They still write great songs though. That's what's important.
