| Earlier this month, AC/DC announced the immediate departure of longtime frontman Brian Johnson citing crippling hearing issues. As the band explained it, Johnson risked “total hearing loss” if he continued touring.
However, according to Johnson’s longtime friend and comedian Jim Breuer, the AC/DC singer’s hearing issues are being overblown, and Johnson feels he was unfairly “kicked to the curb.”
As Ultimate Classic Rock reports, Breuer relayed a recent conversation he had with Johnson during the latest episode of his podcast. “He said that he called and let [the band] know, ‘Hey this is what the doctor said, but let’s try to figure this out.'” Breuer continued, “[Johnson] didn’t say he wanted to quit. He didn’t say he was done. He called with that information, and two days later, he read in the papers and heard on Twitter and everywhere else, ‘Brian Johnson going deaf, canceling tour.’ A day later, and it was ‘Oh, we’re gonna have guest singers.’”

| I think Breuer might be blowing this out of proportion as well. Would be nice if Brian would do a interview and set the record straight. | |

| The drama surrounding this band lately has become more interesting than their music Has Angus gone mad with power now that Malcolm's out of the way? He really seems to have that damn-the-torpedoes-I'm-going-to-tour-till-I-die-onstage thing going on, kinda like Lemmy had. Seriously, I hope they all get their shizz together one way or another. Even if it means Angus ends up touring with an all-star band of guest players/singers called "Angus and the DC's." _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Jim Breuer just made a video on Facebook clearing the air. Sounds like Blabberdickmouth and the rest of the music media retards automatically thought it was a fact.
Just will have to wait and see what happens. Personally? If the hearing loss is a huge issue, have someone finish the last 10 shows, maybe have Brian do the last few songs, and call it a career. They had a legendary career that is for sure.

| I don't know how you can replace a guy like Johnson, although they've done it before. I think it would be hard to have lightning strike twice. Maybe they should call it a day? I think a lot of fans would be disappointed in replacement singers. | |

| Brian himself is a replacement singer. Nothing wrong with replacing a member, if the rest are willing to go on. Malcolm was an original member, yet the show goes on. How many called for the band to quit back then? | |

All depends on who they get. Some asshole from some band called The Hives or The Bees, or whatever it was wanted to step up. No....f*cking no. Then you got Dave Evans, I doubt that would work, some say that Angry Anderson should take over. That would be cool, I'd be interested in seeing that.

Me! I did. I think that they could carry on with another singer if he was great (and lets face it they can get great) but AC/DC is Angus & Malcolm, it's always been their band.

| I have to agree with 666, no way to replace Brian Johnson at this point unless they are going to resurrect Bon Scott.
Johnson has been with the band 36 years and his voice is a huge part of their sound. Can it be done? Sure, but lightening rarely strikes twice, and whoever the guy would be, would be under two very big shadows.

Yes, there is a ton wrong with the Hives, when one is closed minded on musical genres and those who only listen to one type of music. Sorry, on the Evans thing. I guess it has to do with one Evans being much more popular than the other. You definitely got me on that one (brain fart). But Dale, if still alive probably would be a better choice.

| So I guess Breuer was doing an Ace Ventura impression and talking out his ass... - Quote :
- AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson's close friend, comedian Jim Breuer, has released a video message clarifying the comments he made in which he suggested the singer was "kicked to the curb" by the band after 36 years.
Breuer said: "Just so people know, I'm not quoting Brian Johnson. It's me venting. He didn't say a lot of those things. When I first saw him he was just down and sad and just saying, 'I'm just trying to work things out and I hope it all comes to fruition.' The rest is me just trying to lift him up, being funny and goofy. Then I just talked in a conversation with a friend kind of exaggerating some of those points. I had no clue the madness that it would create."
_________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| I read a few books on AC/DC - the latest one was called " The Youngs " - and the book shows a very very tough side of that faimly - between paranoia and aggression - and many people got shafted by the Youngs - to hear that they'll carry on without Johnson is ABSURD. AC/DC never ever came close to topping " Back in Black " and some books claim that many of the lyrics were Bon's - Johnson says they came to him one night in a vision or something and it gives him goose bumps just talking about it - etc - I did think the Cult singer - Ian Ashbury - was great for the Doors 21st century - unless Angus gets Axl Rose from L.A - Malmsteen went through his singers too - God knows why - | |
