I dig his early albums. Cheesy, but no more cheesy than a bunch of other 80s bands I dig.

I actually voted "despise".

I used to think I hated him but then A) he became pretty much reduced to doing TV commercials, B) I discovered he used to have a hair metal band and they actually didn't suck and C) Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay and other more hateable bands came along.

He's a really good singer. His songs were just incredibly over played.

Let it be known that I dislike everything that came after his "rock" phase. My mother listened to that shit! Haha.

I definitely softened my stance on Bolton after his Honda Christmas commercials and hearing his "rock phase".  I felt kind of sorry that the only thing the guy is known for is his sappy ballad crap.

This guy never really bothered me. There was no "meh" option, so I couldn't vote.

I think that my hatred of him stems from working in a hotel with my mother around 1988 where they used to play his really popular album all of the f*cking time!

Far from liking it, my mum very perceptively described it as 'music to slit your wrists to'

I voted Despise. Don't hate the guy. There are way worse out there. You have to admit, he had a pretty cool mullet!

Early-mids '80s stuff is as good as what bands like Foreigner, Journey, Night Ranger, Survivor, Bon Jovi etc. were doing at the time. And there's also a number of very good songs on his more pop-oriented late '80s albums. As for his better known stuff, don't care of it and haven't really heard much of it, but there's worse music than that out there.

I liked his rock stuff well enough, his 80's output, was no better or worse then other pop metal band out at the time. BlackJack was a decent band with a Southern tinge to it, but his adult oriented soft rock never cared for.

Being nostalgic for this era and all its sentimental goo, Bolton sits alright with me. Earlier the better, though.

I like his early albums but he is way overplayed even now..and its not the early stuff I have everybodys crazy on rock candy records version cd...great stuff...

I like songs from the first couple of albums. He had Mark Mangold of American Tears and Touch write a few good tunes for and with him.

Don't like his music at all. I am sure he is a nice guy. I have actually seen him in concert. It was awful other than the fact I had a pretty date who really wanted to go. There were around 25,000 people there. 24,999 women and me so I was in pretty decent company.

Bruce Kulick laid down some awesome riffs on his early albums...
