From what I understand, WWE has been trying to get AJ for many years but they weren't willing to match TNA. Apparently, AJ realized that TNA may offer more money but aren't really going anywhere. Despite how crappy the product is, WWE will always survive. That's partially why they haven't changed much. They have a hardcore audience that will always be there so as long as they scrape by, why change?

| Wow. What a reminder of how fun WWE used to be when The Rock was around. Yeah it was corny but it was still entertaining as hell. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| When he comes back it's always "wow he is so good on the mic no one even comes close". I haven't watched it all but look forward to watching the rest this evening. I'm at the part where Rock was talking to Rick Ross. | |

| No one comes close to Rock on the mic IMO. Even when he's just rehashing his old catchphrases his delivery is just perfect. Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes are/were probably close but of the more modern guys I think Rock is the King Of The Mic. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I never need to see the Rock again. I liked the guy back in the day, but they need to develop new talent and bringing back old guys is completely counterproductive. Would they have brought Bruno Sammartino back for Wrestlemania 17? Of course not. | |

| I totally agree with that. In fact bringing The Rock back just makes you realize how lame the current roster is. Or at least how lame what they're allowed to do is. The fact that Triple H has to wrestle main events again should be additional proof that WWE needs to develop new top-tier talent. They had some guys who could have filled that role but creative dropped the ball. Bray Wyatt was hot as a firecracker when he first debuted but they had the guy lose every feud he was in. Same thing with Kevin Owens, losing 2 out of 3 to SuperCena is not a way to make a new top heel. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Anyone notice how everytime AJ almost hits the Styles Clash? I'm starting to think the predictions that the Clash will not be allowed are going to come true. Otherwise we would have seen it by now. It's perfectly safe if the opponent knows how to hold his head but because of that one incident WWE just aren't willing to take that chance. A shame because it's one of the most awesome moves out there. | |

| Yeah after seeing The Rock, Rock doesnt need WWE but WWE desperately needs someone like The Rock. I love how he is unscripted. So I disagree WWE desperately needs him and he is in wonderful shape. | |

I didn't see it but I read that he did the Styles Clash on Smackdown last week. AJ Styles is so good in the ring I bet you could put him in there with stiffs like Ryback, Big Show or even Khali back in the day and he'd still make it a passable match. He does a lot of the subtle things that make you believe in a match; like still acting like a body part is injured several minutes after the opponent actually executed a move on it. How many time do you see some guy rammed face-first into a ring post then bodyslammed outside the ring and 10 seconds later get up like nothing is wrong? _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

For sure, him and Christopher Daniels were the cream of the crop in the pre-Hogan TNA days. And yes, I read about him doing the Clash on Smackdown! as well. Could have been Jericho wasn't comfortable with the move or some other reason.

| I'm watching the 4th episode of TNA on PopTV.
This is as bad as WWE. They just had an 8-man "hardcore match" where guys brought all sorts of weapons to the ring and after 20 minutes it ended with a clean pin and no blood. What's the point of a "hardcore" match if no one bleeds? It's just as bad as WWE doing "Hell In The Cell" with no blood. Sort of destroys the whole concept of the match. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I gave up on TNA before they were done on Destination America. It was to the point that I would DVR it and then maybe watch Eric Young or Bobby Roode so I just ended up cancelling the record option. DOn't have PopTV but from what you are saying I am not missing anything.

- Knighton was found dead by police in a Baltimore, Maryland motel room on February 4, 2016. [13] 10 hours earlier, he sent his final tweet which read, "The way I do things may not be the way you do things but you will find out there is only 1 way. My way! (sic) #AxIsTruth." [14]
That sounds like a suicide to me. And given the amount of head trauma he endured during his career, I wouldn't be surprise if CTE was the cause of this. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

Sadly, drugs and suicide are culprits in most early wrestler deaths. Even many of them who died sober died due in part to past drug use. Which is why despite DDP helping them out, I can sadly see Jake Roberts and Scott Hall (especially Roberts whose health has had some recent problems) going early too. Sometimes it's just too little, too late.

| DB may be retiring:
http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/671905-backstage-news-on-daniel-bryan-addressing-his-retirement-on-raw-tonight-legitimacy-of-the-news-contract-details-more
It may be a work, but if it's not, it's because the WWE doctor refuses to clear him despite several other doctors doing so. It was reported that he asked for his release but they refused saying because he is injured, his contract is frozen. If so, that is dirty tactics by WWE and would explain why he would announce retirement.

| This sure sounds like it could be a work. Regardless, at least it gives me something to look forward to on Raw. And the more they promote "Still to come....Daniel Bryan on his retirement" and depending on whether it's the opening segment, the closing segment or the top of an hour in between, the more suspicious I'll become. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
