WICKED MYSTIC did the flamenco + metal thing more than a decade ago and it was outstanding, particularly in a song called "Shadow Dancer". But no one cared about them: they were too busy listening to horrible, lousy, mediocre metal and so the band went away.
Just check out how fantastic this guitar work is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEuJ3oVT1Wo

I was surprised at the insane backlash Cryptopsy's "The Unspoken King" got just for daring to do something different.

That guy that plays Slayer on the banjo is crazy. Hillbilly Thrash!
Here is a Mariachi band that plays metal songs. https://youtu.be/YtfBrw5CiIg

There was a early/mid 70s Flamenco-Prog group called Carmen. I have their first two records, they were a really unique band. Brother & sister vocal harmonies, Mellotron, multi-part songs, etc. If anyone has heard the Neil Merryweather Space Rangers album, that's the only thing I can think of that sounds similar (Glam-Prog).

There is that guy Mark Wood that played metal on a distorted electric fiddle.

There's one band called Deuteronomium that plays a style that they call "Death and Roll", Ult did not like their album Street Corner Queen, though I found it interesting if a bit unfocused.

Aren't there many bands in this style such as Blackstar, Chrome Division, I, etc...? Or are they considered something else?
