| a band out of Plainview, Texas called "Social Disgrace"? I found the inserts in with a 1200 cd lot I recently purchased, and they look totally rockin'! I would love to get a burn to hear what they sound like. Can anyone hook an uncle up? here are some particulars that might ring a bell: 1992 Black Nite Records (obvisouly an indie) 8 tracks |

| The cover suggests Suicidal Tendencies thrashcore, but the pic on the back and song titles make them seem like southern-influenced 80s rock. A quick check on the net lists them as sleaze/glam. Maybe Shiney knows? I've never heard of them. Where do you buy CD lots? |

I've seen them listed on ebay and Craig's List. Never bought one myself, but Craig's List is a good place to look because they're ususally a set price. No bidding wars like ebay.

| Heavy Harmonies has them listed but not much information on them and the reviews are pretty worthless: http://www.heavyharmonies.com/cgi-bin/glamcd.cgi?BandNum=2871&CDName=Social+Disgrace _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| Thanks Bri - I emailed them. We'll see what happens.
The 1200 cd lot is a bit of a long story. The abridged version is - we stopped in Paducah, KY on the way back from the Keys a couple weeks ago. I stopped at a pawn shop that had gone out of biz. I could see racks and racks of cds in there. After Auntie Saxon nix'd the idea of breaking in, I did some quick investigation (my line of work anyways), tracked down the owner who was very cool and came in after not being in that building for 6 mos. We were both in a hurry (I had to make it to Chicago to see Rollins in about 6 hours from there!). He did a quick count, said there was about 1200 and said "Hundred Bucks for all"? I said "Ya got some boxes"? The Vibe was completely packed when I got pulled over for my second speeding ticket in 2 days on the way to Chi-town. |

I know there are plenty of Pawn Shops in Philadelphia, but I've never gone into one. The ones that I've seen are in "questionable" neighborhoods and probably not worth a bullet in the back.

There are only a couple of pawn shops in this area that I know of, but they're not in the kind of neighborhoods you want to be in at ANY time of day.

| The cases on the CDs in pawn shops are sometimes sticky. I'm just adding my two cents. |

| There is no neighborhood I won't go into if there is a pawn shop there. South Chicago - Detroit - Harlem - whatever. Actually, chances are most metalheads have the same perspective about avoiding those neighborhoods, so I always find great gems there, because they have not been picked over!! MC666 has a similar career as mine, and I know he has no prob going into any area, because it's his job. Ya kinda lose any fears about those kind of things after 20 years. |

| and, yeah, mostly fecal matter, but some great stuff too! But 1200 jewels cases is worth a Benji. I'll have no prob making probably 600% on the investment. I'll post a quick pre-cd selloff tradelist in the metal market tonight. |

Similair situation... Back before the internets, when people actually stood in line at West Coast Video stores and the like to buy concert tickets, my friends and I would travel to a more "urban" part of the city and walk right up to the counter and buy tickets for all of our favorite shows, knowing that noone would be there. EDIT: I realize that the above statement contradicts my previous post about going into questionable/urban neighborhoods, but this was done years ago, when we were young and didn't know any better. And it was groups of 4 or 5 of us, in all of our metal glory of hair, denim and leather.

Well I for one am glad I am going out of town, otherwise I would more than likely be trying to persuade my wife tonight why I need to buy 20 or more CDs from Uncle Sax. |

| OK, THAT WAS WEIRD. I ORDERED THIS CD FROM THE SITE THAT BRIAN HOOKED ME UP WITH AND AN HOUR LATER, THE SINGER JUST CALLED ME ON THE PHONE TO SHOOT THE BREEZE. SOUNDED LIKE A VERY COOL GUY. HE DOES GRAPHIC ART IN VEGAS NOW. GET SOME LAME COUNTRY ARTIST TO DO THAT. I LOVE METAL! |
