| Anyone hoping for Masters II will be highly disappointed. There's no way that would happen again. All we can really hope for is a decent to good album. A return to greatness is highly unlikely. | |

| I thought I would finally chime in. The song's fine and I guess the cover art works for me in a weird way. The chorus for this song is beyond sophomoric. This is less of a criticism and more me being observant to Metallica as people, but James Hetfield was getting away from the whole cursing thing at live shows in between songs. It's been all about "feeling alive" and "Are you Alive?", etc... Now he devotes a whole chorus to F*ck this and shit that. O.K... | |

| That was disappointing - while they're certainly back to a thrashy sound, the songwriting is lacking, at least on that track - it's pretty forgettable, though - I personally don't necessarily want them playing heavier, I'd rather just want solid tracks, which can definitely be said about the Load albums and Death Magnetic - this is probably the weakest single out of the newer albums. The lyrics bug me as well | |

| I prefer to wait until the album is out. Who knows. We might be getting a classic. At least i hope so... | |

| What I'm trying to get at with the MoP thing is that I hope the whole record mixes up the tempos and intensity levels while keeping the beefy sound, I'm really not interested in hearing Metallica's take on Repentless, so if all of the songs are like this one I'll think it's just a cop out to the 'be thrash again!' crowd. I don't expect the quality of songwriting to hit those levels (Mop) and frankly, the vocals would be completely beyond James these days.
I think though, 12 songs clocking in at over 80 minutes, the signs are good.
Either way,I'll give it waay more leeway than it objectively deserves because Metallica is special to me.

| Didnt care for the new song, sounds rushed and forced to me. I think since the way they write music has changed its not been up to par. That and Lar's drumming really irks me they need to go back to that technical sound like Justice musicmanship style | |

| Maybe one disc is more in the vein of KEA and the other one in the vein of AJFA or DM but it does seem like most of them are at the 6 minute plus mark. | |

| The more I listen, the less I like it - it's not only boring, but that chorus is just horrid - I cringe whenever James screams "we're so f*cked" - This is the most forgettable, boring song they have ever written. | |

| But damn, I love this new song. Artwork definitely sucks. I cannot wait for the album, though I do wish Lords of Summer was just part of the proper album...that song is badass and I've been jamming to it since it came out. | |

- Song was good. I'm prefer the Mustaine stuff and post TBA material so this was good to me although I found the solo to be typical Kirk it just ended awkwardly.
I dunno, that dude has been happily and lazily stuck in pentatonic meedly-meedly mode his entire career. I don't think he's lazy at all. It's not that he himself is lazy, but his approach to technique is. I've played through every one of his solos up through the Black album and it's the same thing every time: boxed pents, constant whammy slams, sixteenth triplets that aren't always very well articulated. He actually plays more like a blues man. Mustaine at least pulls out some jazz stops and multi-faceted dynamics here and there (on top of having virtuosos taking most of the lead responsibilities).
But that's not necessarily a complaint on my end. I think it's actually charming, and I admire his confidence in not indulging in advancing his vocabulary (i.e. Tipton-Downing). All his noodling, basic at it is, has somehow added character to the band's music. But I have become very indifferent to his musical presence in the past 15 years. I'm no musician, so I don't know if lazy is right or not, but I will say that his solos have been boring since AJFA in my opinion. They just don't have any spark to them. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | The chorus isn't as bad as I thought it would be. The song overall is pretty good and sounds like a continuation of the Death Magnetic album. I am a buyer for sure, always will be. Like someone else said above, this could be the weakest song on the album. This is how I felt about the last VH offering. "Tattoo" is weak, but I love the rest of the album. And, yeah, the cover is atrocious in my dumb opinion, but other than box sets, my CD's get shelved and not displayed so all I will ever see is the spine.

I'm sure I will too, although I doubt it will be a "first day" get for me. I want to hear a little more before I plunk down my moneys. I ain't falling for that anymore. You hear me, St. Anger!?! Never again!! _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| Best Buy will most likely have it on sale super cheap ($9.99 or so) during its first week of release, Â I pass by a B.B. every day on my way home from work, so I'm sure I'll stop in real quick to grab a copy at some point. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I know I will buy it eventually, how much of a frequent spin the album will become or where it will sit in their discography in terms of quality, have no idea since I have only heard one song. | |

| I will probably grab it first day/ week cuz like FF said, it will be cheapest then. I am sure there will be lots of "burn and returns" in the bins but I don't like waiting out the trickle down effect of the pricing. | |

| The riff sounds rehashed from something older.
It's like the F bomb is being used as a marketing ploy ? One thing to say it just to say it and another to have it seem forced.
