Impellitteri- Venom

I am ashamed to say that my collection of Impellitteri is sorely lacking. But I am working on it.

That song is awesome. Hope the rest of the album sounds like this.

Are all this bands albums at least this good?

I think Screaming Symphony, Grin and Bear It, Crunch and Wicked Maiden are the best. The rest are good but those are the ones I listen to most.

I just listened to it, too. And I totally agree. Usually I don't bother with samples if it's a must-buy album like this, but I had a weird moment and clicked anyway. Now what? I have to wait months for the album. And did I already spoil my first spin of the CD when it does come out? It's like waiting to see a movie and reading spoilers beforehand. Dammit!

I'll just play my old Impellitteri CDs.

Hmm... I see the Frontiers version is now available for pre-order, but only 10 tracks are listed. What happened to the 2 bonus tracks?

Screaming Symphony is fantastic! My other favorites are Answer to the Master and Eye of the Hurricane and Stand in Line.

The samples sound good. I think Face The Enemy stands out the most.

I did pre-order, and I got an email in the weekend that it's been shipped. Didn't arrive yet.

I think I'll take Wicked Maiden with me in the car tomorrow, and hopefully the new one is in the mailbox when I get home from work.

I ordered the vinyl, which doesn't come out until July.

It arrived. It does have the 2 bonus tracks. I'll give it a couple of spins and let you all know what I think.

I've listened through about three times now. It's got some really great stuff, Face the Enemy is fantastic but overall, many of the songs like Nightmare, Rise, Rock through the Night seem a little too formulaic, even for these guys. Have to see where it lands in their discography.

i like it. It is pretty much what you would expect from Impellitteri.

Still need to get this one. I hope to get the version with the bonus tracks.

Face the Enemy sounds like a Hollow song.

Got it, and so far, so great. These two combined are hard to beat.

This is definitely an excellent album! Some classic Impellitteri songs in here. The first 6 songs are real good. Chris is in form, Rob sounds great. I especially like Empire of Lies and Domino Theory. That's vintage Impellitteri. Face the Enemy is a new twist within a famliar framework. Rise, Time Machine, Holding On are winners too, imo. So, basically almost all of it. 9/10. The last two tracks are bonus tracks anyway.

If I had to compare this to Wicked Maiden, it's still a little short though. But that's mostly on Wicked Maiden being one amazing m-f'ing CD! Venom kind of lacks the mind-blowing A+++ songs like what "Garden of Eden" and "The Vision" were.

I haven't heard the bonus tracks yet, but the album itself is pretty good. I can't say there are any songs I'll be listening to over and over again, but the overall performance is top-notch.
