It's that time of the year again when everyone and their brother is sick of hearing the same old tired Christmas tunes on the radio and in the stores. Here's what's been playing in or around the MetalGuy Estate since Black Friday....
Davie Allan and the Arrows - Fuzz For the Holidays, Vol. 1 & 2 Bad Religion - Christmas Songs Big Bad VooDoo Daddy - Everything You Want For Christmas, It Feels Like Christmas Time Johnny Cash - Personal Christmas Collection The Chipmunks - Christmas With The Chipmunks Vince Guaraldi Trio - A Charlie Brown Christmas Tracii Guns / Megan Kinney - Christmas ep Halford - Winter Songs Heart - Heart Presents A Lovemongers' Christmas Rev. Horton Heat - We Three Kings Gary Hoey - Ho! Ho! Hoey! Vol. 1,2,3 Steve Lukather - SantaMental She & Him - A Very She & Him Christmas Frank Sinatra - A Jolly Christmas From Frank Sinatra The Smithereens - Christmas with the Smithereens Brian Setzer Orchestra - Dig That Crazy Christmas and Boogie Woogie Christmas Squirrel Nut Zippers - Christmas Caravan Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Eve and Other Stories, The Lost Christmas Eve Twisted Sister - A Twisted Christmas Various - Dr. Demento's Greatest Christmas CD of All Time Various - Little Steven Presents Christmas A-Go-Go Various - Merry Axemas, Vol. 1 & 2 Various - Metal Xmas
and some random Christmas songs:
LA Guns - Little St. Nick The Ramones - Merry Christmas I Don't Want to Fight Hanoi Rocks - Dead By Christmas Joe Perry - Run Run Rudolph
So what gets your bells jingling?

So far the only thing I've played has been "A Christmas Gift To You From Phil Spector"... I meant to dig my TSO and Halford "Winter Songs" discs out of the cabinet this morning on my way out the door but didn't have time.
Twisted Sister's "Twisted Christmas" will get some spin time eventually as well.

Actually, I just try to steer clear of the more traditional stuff, with some exceptions of course. Way back when I worked in a supermarket, I became so sick and jaded with all the Christmas music that started the day after Thanksgiving, I totally abandoned the traditional route for a long time.
Then in the mid/late 90's, a co-worker introduced me to TSO and it re-ignited the Christmas spirit, showing me that Christmas music didn't have to be so lame and could be cool, you just had to know where to look.
I also forgot to add The Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas albums to my playlist. Ho, ho ho!!

I broke out that Bad Religion album today too.
On Thanksgiving I again started trying to pull together all the "one-off" Christmas songs that bands seem to throw on regular albums occasionally. You know, stuff like "Mistress For Christmas" by AC/DC. I always seem to lose interest before I get finished but maybe by the time I'm 80, I'll finally have completed it. One I added to the folder I started several years ago is this one by Diamond Dogs:
