Do you listen to music at work?

Do you (or are you allowed to) listen to music at work? I do, albiet on my mp3 player (sadly, my place of business doesnt have wi-fi, so i cant bring my tablet and listen to online radio).

Yep, I have a little CD player on my desk at work so I listen to tunes all day. I naturally have to keep the volume low, but I've never had any complaints.

Yes but sometimes it's just the radio. No one wants to hear my metal. So we listen to classic rock or a station called Bob FM that plays mostly 80's stuff. We do have wifi but they don't want us using it.

Working security, I crank up the tunes in my truck when  I'm making driving rounds. When I'm sitting in the office i sometimes listen to some tunes softly. I never listen when making rounds in buildings because I need to be able to hear. For my teaching assistant job, I listen to music when I'm grading quizzes or something else objective.

Before I had my stroke. I always had music cranked while working. That's the way to go if you can get away with it.

Yep, constantly. I have an ihome and play my ipod from the time I get there til the time I leave. I work in a warehouse so I can play it at the volume I choose.

I listen to music and podcasts all day long at work. I listen on my iphone.

I used to but when I switched from application development to production support I stopped because in my current job I find music too distracting.

I'm on again, off again, but only get to listen to SiriusXM. At least I can put it on Liquid Metal.

I own my own business...so, yes, I listen to music. I've been working 16 hour days, so I listen to most of my music at work lately.

They very slowly removed all of the radios from the science labs.
No music, just petty hatred now LOL -
even during lunch - at a computer - music just doesn't seem right -
commute home from work - yes
morning commute to work - no

I listen to news or sports talk at work, but I work in a paint store, so I don't get to listen to much with all the tinting, pounding, and shaking going on almost constantly.

i listen to work when i can. I used to listen more when i was a business analyst but now that i am a BSA I dont get as much of a chance.

I listen to a lot of music at work. Since the station is like our home every third day, it has all the devices and amenities you'd find at home, plus some extras, so music is very much a part of the day. Lucky for me, my Captain these last two years is a heavy metal lover. We lean in different directions, but I'd say we have a 50% overlap, and an ability to enjoy the others' metal, even if it isn't our favorite genre.

I work in an open plan office so I have to use earphones, but other than that there's no problem.  I used to listen to CDs, but when getting an iPod I not only put my entire music collection on that but also on my work computer (which serves as a backup to the iPod) and so that's what I listen to now.

I work in a cubicle, and either have my iPod or iPhone playing all the time...low volume...I've never had any complaints...playing Vicious Rumors now.

Yup. All day. I'm a graphic artist in a room with 2 other graphic artists. All three of us wear headphones for music, videos, digital editing, movies, podcasts, porn, whathaveyou. We're all very antisocial creatures.

I pop cds into the drive and listen all day through my Windows Media Player.

Me too, except for the backup on the work computer! Seems if I don't put the ear buds in I get chatted up all to frequently.

I have a clerical support job, so music is essential for maintenance of sanity. I have a small dock I plug my ipod into and it runs for the entirety of my shift. Really, the thing deserves a medal for being such a rock.   

Starting tomorrow I will be working from home for all but 1 hour per week(when I have to go in for the team meeting).  We'll see if my music listening habits change now.

I spend large portions of my workday driving, so the Ipod gets plugged in and the tunes get cranked.

All day every day. After I took over the shop I got a set of powered PA speakers & the whole place rocks out all day. Not always metal. we have classic Country day, & we listen to wrestling podcast a lot too. Many a time I have come back from lunch & seen an air guitar concert going on in the middle of the shop. It boost morale & has helped productivity.

I listen to Spotify on my phone via earbuds, in my cubicle.

In my 20s, I worked in a warehouse where I was the only one back there. Thus, I played whatever I wanted on a little boombox, full volume. I remember one time listening to Cradle of Filth when my boss brought some vendors to the back, showing them around. She said "This is where Johnny checks in stock. And worships Satan."
