Subject: Thrash Metal Album Suggestions (heartofmetal version) Mon Dec 23, 2013 8:25 pm
Hey there, guys. I'm looking to expand my piss-poor thrash metal collection. (as always)
I've pretty much heard it all, but hopefully there's something I've missed. I prefer progressive/technical thrash, but I'm looking for something with extremely catchy vocals hooks and choruses. But if it helps, here are some of my favorite bands: Toxik, Coroner, Megadeth, Artillery, Tourniquet, and Voivod.

As you may have noticed, I'm lacking some really important albums from Slayer, Sepultura, Megadeth and Metallica. It's not that I haven't heard them, it's just that I pretty much overdosed on these releases during my formative years and don't have much of a desire to buy the physical albums.

Can't tell you much that you haven't already said or that Ult hasn't already put down! The rest of Revocations discography is pretty good. Seventh Angel is top notch, and their "sister" band Detritus is some of my favorite thrash, although their best album is hard to come by and expensive. Maybe Solstice, although their on the rougher side of thrash, more intensity with less emphasis on being catchy.

Oh yeah. I'm definitely lacking death/thrash.
And I've been looking for Seventh Angel's "Lament for the Weary" forever. I'd love to find one below $50.

Off the top of my head, I see these great albums missing... Infernäl Mäjesty - None Shall Defy Détente - Recognize No Authority The Crown - Deathrace King Nuclear Assault - Survive Cryptic Slaughter - Money Talks Holy Moses - Queen of Siam Holy Moses - Finished with the Dogs Holy Moses - Terminal Terror Holy Moses - Reborn Dogs Nasty Savage - Indulgence Deathchain - Deadmeat Disciples Possessed - Seven Churches Carnivore - Retaliation Wehrmacht - Biermächt Destruction - Infernal Overkill
...an pretty much any Slayer aside from Reign. I'm guessing the reason you only have the one is a lyrical thing.

Cyclone, my friend. My top thrash band. But good luck finding Inferior to None; it sells in bootleg form on ebay from 50 and up. Kickass album full of energy and very memorable.

That's not a poor collection at all.
I don't have anything to add, but why'd you skip Practise What You Preach by Testament?

Did anybody suggest Atrophy "Violent By Nature" or Sadus "A Vision of Misery" yet? If not, consider them suggested.

It's weird because I'm getting better suggestions than I did from Thrash Unlimited.

I honestly don't know. From some, I heard it was mediocre, but from others, a masterpiece. I'm on a big Testament kick lately, so maybe it will result in a purchase.
