Wardance (5.5% abv) is brewed using a blend of both New York State and North American two-row malt barley and a blend of special malts to add color and depth of flavor. The hops are sourced through New York State and West Coast growers. A percent of the hops is added in the boil kettle and a percent post fermentation to create a unique flavor profile that balances the rich flavor and aroma of the specialty malts with the delicate aroma of the select hops. The result is a recognizable beer with a unique character that sets Wardance apart from other beers out in the market today. I picked up 3 cans (Ugh!! Canned beer!!) of this last night. Didn't try it yet though. I'll save it for tonight. I haven't seen that around here yet but I am heading out to the store later and I'll check for it then.

| And you can set aside the old canned beer bias. Took me a while to get over it too but now you can get craft beers in cans and they taste just as good as the bottled version. Either "can technology" has improved over the years or the mass market beer companies use just as cheap ingredients in their cans as they do in their beer. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I think it's cheaper cans. They got to keep that bottom line as low as possible (and this coming from one who doesn't mind the mass marketed beer). | |

I found out in my beer/wine/liquor deliveries that a local Texas Brewery (Rarh And Sons) has switched completely to bottles.

| There have been changes in how cans are done and actually they keep the light out so there's that. | |

| Yeah I'm totally over my can prejudice.
Now I buy Avery's "Maharaja" (imperial IPA), Lattitude 48's "Lucifer's Cuvee" (chocolate stout), Tallgrass "One Eyed Jacque" (Belgian stout) among other exclusively in cans. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| Buying a can of beer just gave me a horrible flash back to my old drinking days. It's been years since I voluntarily purchased canned beer. As for the beer itself, it was very tasty. I drank 2 of the 3 I purchased Friday night with some nachos the wife made. Went down smoother than a Catholic girl on prom night. I liked the Anthrax 'Wardance' better than the Megadeth 'A Tout LeMonde', but not as good as Maiden's Trooper. I would definitely buy and drink more of it though. Preferably in bottles. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I agree. I bought a can of Trooper and it's was blah. I ended up using it to cook bratwurst. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

In my defense, there's a ton of beers in this thread that you guys talk about that I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot beer funnel. You guys pick your beer selections like Eyesore picks music. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Ahh yes. My apologies. Perhaps I should have said you pick your beers like Witchfinder carefully selects only the finest and most obscure imports while Eyesore binges on the cheap stuff from the bottom shelf. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | Along those lines, I saw one today that I ALMOST bought. A new one from the Schlafly's uber-snobby "Ibex Series"; a stout aged in port barrels with cocoa nibs. Sounded real tasty.
But not at $29.96 for an 18 oz bottle. Sheesh, even I'm not snobby enough to pay that. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I drank one cold and it was weird. The flavors just didn't seem to mesh very well. I'll try one at room temperature next. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I really don't notice much difference to be honest. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
