| Trying a really odd one now: Evil Twin Imperial Donut Break.
It's basically an imperial porter but it has this glazed donut flavor in the finish. And it packs an ABV of 11.5%. Definitely a "sipper". Not sure what I think yet. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| New micro-brewery just opened in town......haven't even come close to trying all their stuff yet, but the Blueberry Blonde was pretty stinkin' good.
And I don't usually like to fruit the beer....broke my own rule, I know.
Rule #1: Don't fruit the beer!
In this case, I will make an exception.

In this case, I will make an exception. I run across exceptions to the "no fruit beer" too occasionally. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I decided to cut all beer of my life. I´m am actually an alcoholic. the addiction went to extremes back in 2009 to 2011. ruined my life and career completely. I was feeling that I was able to drink some beer here and there and I didn´t feel the urge to drink MORE AND MORE AND MORE like in the case of an extreme alcoholism, but I decided to cut all the alcohol. I have relapses , some more intense , some not, some extreme as hell. but in 2011 I admitted I am actually an alcoholic.
However I didn´t take the first AA step completely. I am able to admit my life became UNMANAGEABLE ( CHAOS ) but I am not willing to accept I am "powerless" over alcohol.
NO , NO , NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!
If I was powerless over alcohol I´d not be able to take some beer from time to time like i did for some time and not have a real relapse. Well I´m not powerless over a lifeless "substance". If I was powerless over alcohol I´d be powerless over ... water ... or over anything.

| I went through a time where I would consider myself an alcoholic....then I disciplined myself and quit completely for 15 years....now that I am older and have better self control, I can have a beer from time to time and be ok. | |

I sure wish this was available year round. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

| I will not miss the beer , giving it up was no big sacrifice to me. I´ve tried sum beers like Tuborg and Pilsner Urkell ( I think that was the name ) back in 1992 when I collected beer cans and it tasted like really good stuff you know , but beer is not "something I can´t live without" so I rather gave up. My addiction in terms of drink is soda, but I ONLY drink the 0 carbohydrate ones nowadays. | |

True, but y'know what goes great with good music? A good beer. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Can we have these words carved into marble somewhere prominent? Maybe in the halls of government or something? Personally, I'm waiting with baited breath for the Pumpkin Wheat Shock Top come September/October. I could stockpile that stuff.

It's OK, I believe wackadoodle is gone now. We can enjoy our beer without a recovering addict busting our chops. I've often wondered about people's ideas that drink in itself is a sin. Jesus and his disciples drank wine for crying out loud! What's even funnier is that if you mention that, they say it was non-alcoholic. Turning water into grape juice is a good parlor trick but hardly a miracle. Turning water into something that takes time to age (the Bible says it was high quality wine-that means years and years of aging) is why that was such an amazing feat.

| Tonight I'm drinking Avery's "The Czar" - a Russian Imperial stout. The 10.2 ABV is pretty well hidden which makes this one "dangerous"; it's ABV can sneak up on you if you're not careful. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
