Any one remember this band. they were really good. I just picked up a greatest hits collection and must say I really enjoy it. If you are not familiar with them then check them out....

I remember them from the OLD MTV days. Then lost track of them. I recently bought the album with Mama We're All Crazy Now song on it. I think Quiet Riot stole there thunder when they released their version of that song a little later.

This is a band I vaguely remember. Not sure I ever actually heard them before this thread though.

Huge MB here from day one. I have everything they put out and even some of their solo works including Celtus.

I was a big fan in the 80's, I think that my mum bought be the album on the strength that they were Irish!! (Don't ask me to explain my mother! )
I haven't picked up on them since but have been meaning to. Good stuff.

I remember two songs from them, their cover of the Slade classic 'Mama Weer All Crazee' and their own tune 'Needle in the Groove', have not heard them since.

Always regret when Omega Order had one of their killer sales (WTH happened to those anyway?) and I didn't take advantage of getting their stuff. Some other things took priority and then on a second pass they were out of stock.

I dig 'em. I don't have much by them though. I posted one of the records on my Facebook page not too long ago.

Power And Passion was one of my first Rock/Metal albums. I loved their sound.

I have only vague memories of these guys, I used to come across their records back in the day and I probably saw a random video or two on MTV.
Did their cover of "Mama We're All Crazee Now" actually precede the Quiet Riot one? Cuz I didn't hear it till after Quiet Riot's version had already become a massive hit... so of course, when I heard the Mama's Boys version sometime later I remember thinking that it was a pretty dumb idea to record another cover of a song that Q.R. had already taken to the bank. Haha

So the Slade cover was released on a compilation album combining the first two albums and is pretty much unavailable anywhere? Wow.

I don't know about the U.S but the Slade cover was on the album Mamas Boys (1984) It was also a single
Both the Mamas Boys and QR versions were from '84 so I have no idea which came first.

I never thought about the hindrance of the name and actually I thought it fit rather well. Now, if you wanna talk about terrible band names, there is a virtual cornucopia of them existing today. Its as if the kids today just gave up. That or all the good ones have been taken.

There is a thread around here someplace regarding bad band names.
