Anyone a fan? They're one of my favorite punk bands of the 1970s.

Yep I love em. Sonic Reducer and Ain't it Fun are classics. I got the first 2 lps for a buck each at the flea market a couple of years ago.

I just heard some Dead Boys yesterday for the first time and they were pretty sweet. I do like Guns n' Roses cover of Ain't It Fun from the Spaghetti Incident.

Man didn't know this thread existed.
Great great great band. Rock n' roll, hard rock, punk whatever you want to call them they are brilliant.
Love the debut, Ain't Nothin' To Do being my particular fav. If you don't own Young, Loud & Snotty, you don't know rock n' roll. Must have essential.
Love everything Stiv did after the DB's. His Hanoi Roxy Wanderers album he did the Sham 69 guys, his powerpop solo records, the Last Race recordings and of course the brilliant Lords Of The New Church.
Cheetah Chrome's Ghetto Dogs record is a good one as well from '93 i think.
I liked the Dead Boys but I loved Lords even more. The music of the Lords is almost unclassifiable. Goth punk?

Yeah Lords Of The New Church are probably one of the greatest rock n' roll bands, goth, punk, rockabilly, glam, sleaze, metal, new wave and "all this and more".
Have you guys checked out Stiv's Wanderers album from '81 i think, his backing band is Sham 69 and it approaches are really great new wavey glam punk not unlike early Hanoi Rocks. It was a precursor to all those great Lords albums.
Check out some tunes here:

The little I've heard on satellite radio is pretty cool and I'm familiar with other bands covering their stuff. I'd like to get some of their music someday.

the Dead Boys very cool band, album '" Young, Loud, Snotty" is classic, " Sonic Reducer" alone is worth the price of admission.

Found this cool clip of the Dead Boys performing "Sonic Reducer" (later covered by Overkill), from a 1980 Halloween reunion show... and Joey Ramone introduces 'em before they come out on stage. Does it get any more punk than that?
