Okay....get me some mustard on my crow sandwich. My son let me hear KXM cranked up on my stereo...and now I like it.

Amazon sucks...LOL! Now it's $35 minimum for free shipping AND they charge sales tax now...argh!! I still bought it...but still. LOL!
Amazon Prime, man. So worth it.
Definitely worth it. I purchase so much from Amazon, I'd be paying so much more without it.
I purchased this album yesterday. I'm hoping that because the music is so good, I'll eventually be able to accept the vocals. That's happened with me before (Scott's Ultimatum for example).
The drum work on this album is exceptional!

Count my vote for Amazon Prime as well. Found out we saved 500 bucks alone on shipping last year. Plus I've found albums on there for less than 5 bucks. It really is a sort of paradise for CD collectors.

I had a feeling you would like it since it seems right up your alley, especially considering how much you enjoyed Winery Dogs. I'm picking this up first week of next month when our budget cycles around.

I need to not base my judgement upon hearing shitty ass computer version of a song. I hate MP3's

Listened to this in its entirety today to decide whether or not to get it.
Damn. It's really good. Better than I expected. The riffs are very different, with unconventional cadences. Dug's bass is mixed PERFECTLY with a low rumble. The drummer (what's his name?) is the best thing about this album; I've never heard patterns like this before. And Lynch pulls of his most inspired work here. Dug's vocals don't do much for me but they fit the vibe of the music, and this is all about tight, inspired songwriting, something that was missing from the Winery Dogs project (speaking of supergroups). I'm certainly getting this, and soon. Love and Burn are my top tracks.

So they have released a different version of this in Europe with a different mix and several rerecorded parts. Supposedly the guitars sound more "Lynch like."

I guess that's cool, but sucks for everyone that has already purchased the original release.
The Japanese edition has a bonus track called "Big Rock" that I'd like to hear.

2nd KXM album coming in March...
Quote :
KXM, the project featuring drummer Ray Luzier (KORN), bassist/vocalist Doug Pinnick (KING'S X) and guitarist George Lynch (LYNCH MOB, DOKKEN), will release its sophomore album, "Scatterbrain", on March 17 via Rat Pak Records.
The follow-up to KXM's 2014 self-titled debut is currently available for pre-order via the Rat Pak web site in various bundles, including signed CDs and t-shirts.
All fans who pre-order the album through the Rat Pak web site will be entered to win a one-of-a-kind custom guitar as well as other prizes.
"Scatterbrain" was recorded at the Steakhouse studio in North Hollywood, California. The 13-track effort was helmed by Chris "The Wizard" Collier (FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, PRONG, LAST IN LINE), who also produced KXM's debut.
From the infectious riff of the album opener "Scatterbrain" to the outro of "Angel", KXM has created something truly special and musically diverse. Songs like "Breakout", "Calypso" and "True Deceivers" are sonically different from each other, taking the listener on a musical journey.
"Scatterbrain" is thematically a darker record than the debut. The album builds upon the developed KXM rock sound but this time includes some different dynamics drawing inspiration from prog, ska, punk and metal. Through it all, it remains undeniably KXM.
Recorded over the span of ten days, every song on "Scatterbrain" was the result of a musical jam from all three members playing together in the same room. Luzier explains: "We wanted to use the same formula as the first KXM record: book studio time, come in fresh every day with a new idea and run with it and not overthink anything." Lynch describes the sessions as record-topia: "We showed up in the studio, camped out with a bunch of gear and let the tape roll! Just like the first album — no pre-production, no rehearsal, no pre-written songs." Pinnick adds: "The vibe was like a bunch of old friends having fun creating music like the previous record — nothing but fun!"
"Scatterbrain" track listing:
01. Scatterbrain 02. Breakout 03. Big Sky Country 04. Calypso 05. Not A Single Word 06. Obsession 07. Noises In The Sky 08. Panic Attack 09. It's Never Enough 10. True Deceivers 11. Stand 12. Together 13. Angel

Great news! I'm looking forward to this. I guess I will wait and see if they release a bunch of different versions/mixes of it like with the first album before buying though.

I'll have to revisit the debut album and see if it inspires me enough to plunk down cash for the new one. I wasn't super interested in the debut but I remember placing a "what-the-hell" low bid on ebay and ended up winning.

The European release had a different mix and multiple re-recorded guitar parts, apparently with a more "Lynch-like" sound. I still haven't had a chance to hear it. I'm still on the lookout for the Japanese bonus track "Big Rock" too.
