| M. Night is so scattershot it's ridiculous, he tends to craft good individual sequences but fails stitching them together into a cohesive whole. Even The Sixth Sense is overrated, watching that movie after you know the twist is a completely different experience, all the flaws become immediately apparent.
I think Signs is probably his best overall and it also has issues.
He could have made the list.

On a TV scale production perspective that's probably where his skills at. But in movies, NO. The dude was given enormous budget in most of his films yet he failed to make the most out of it. Airbender and AfterEarth were a living testament to that

Yup. Great ideas, but not cohesive.

| My fellow sci-fi fans are telling me After Earth would be an incredible movie without the Smith clan marring it. For those here who have seen it, is this true? | |

It felt like it was made for a TV special or something, it wasn't that bad, but the cinematic grandeur is definitely not there. For $130 Million budget, I mean , it didn't feel like it. I've seen $80-$90 Million movies that *looks* bigger than After Earth as far as cinematic experience go. Maybe the kid was the culprit, not sure though.... I'd probably rate it 4/10, mildly entertaining at most
