| Seeing this band name made me think of the Christian Rock band along the lines of Pillar and Thousand Foot Krutch.
As far as Last Train to Heaven, I like what I hear...

| So this is really weird to me bro? I was in the LA and SF Christian metal scene and NEVER heard of this band? I'm assuming this is NOT a Christian band? | |

| Which Bay Area? I was hitting the clubs in the 80's-early 90's in the SF Bay Area (Stone, The Omni, Mabuhay Gardens... Mtn View Theater)....and I'm not familiar with them at all....

| San Jose, California. They were a very short-lived project, maybe 6 months or so. Mike Moore (Rellik vocalist) has written most of the tunes already, and when the Rellik re-union failed, he and Mark joined with Steve, Rich, and Robert (all ex-Hellhounds). A 4 track EP was recorded in late 1990 but never shopped or independently released. The band also had 4 rehearsal tunes recorded in their home studio, so the CD will have 8 tunes in total.
Disciple played only one live gig in mid-1991, at Santa Clara’s One Step Beyond club, and then Mike split to re-join his old band, and the rest of the guys went to form Rapid Fire. They were never part of the Christian, or any other scene for that matter as far as I know. Just a very short-lived side project.

| I wonder if they will get into any legal issues with the christian band Disciple. I know they did with a hardcore band with the same name back in the early days. | |

I remember One Step Beyond but never saw a show there... San Jose back then was a pretty strong hub for Christian Metal fans....

That's interesting question. I guess I'm the one who will be served cease and desist order should the current band picks up a grudge. I never though of this to be an issue since this is a limited demo release of a defunct band, but one never knows. Anyhow, I've looked up the current band and it is some sort of emo mallcore, so I definitely will see if we can change the moniker, as I don't want our fans to get confused Perhaps we can change the name to DËSCŸPLE? Or "Metal Disciple", ideas?

| If they were truly called Disciple in 1991 and you can show it, should be no problem. I worked with the metalcore band Disciple and they didnt come to the scene til early 2000. At the time they even had some problems with another Disciple. the other Disciple changed their name to DiscipleAD or something like that. | |

We have the DAT tapes recoded in 1990 at Astral Sounds studios in San Jose under Disciple, but apart from that I don't think there's anything official with the name published on it, as this was just a short-lived side-project. Besides, I took a brief look at the mallcore's band website and it claims they were founded in 1990... I don't want to end up in some petty dispute over such a small project, so we'll take the high road, just to be on the safe side.

| Their name is Disciple, the album's name is Last Train to Heaven, the cover depicts Moses parting the Red Sea, leading people to the Promised Land and yet the band is NOT Christian?
Odd. The music sounds good though. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| Band name changed to FORGOTTEN DISCIPLE to avoid potential problems with the current mallcore Disciple band owning the trademark. | |

As mentioned by someone else, Disciple was on the scene in the early 90's. They've gone through some style changes. Don't know if I would label them metalcore. The other band was xDisciplex AD: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XDISCIPLEx_A.D. I Think Disciple's label went to town on them to change their name.
